1. TOMB RAIDER

Ye, I know I am kinda late to the party, but hell since the last few TR games I have almost given up my hope
on the franchise. Just seen the TR reboot for 18$ on PSN store, so I thought, hey why not give it a try and hell
this game is so good its unbelievable. Having a blast right now with this game and I could honestly say this new TR game is more fun than TLOU, AC4, GTA5 and any other game Ive played so far in 2013.
Everything in this game like graphics ( ye Im playing it on PS3 and hell the graphics look like next gen ), gameplay, music,
story just everything is top notch in this game its amazing except the multiplayer. But who cares about multiplayer anyway since games like this tend to have a boring multiplayer.

But ye, now I am definitely looking forward to the next Tomb Raider game. This reboot is like the best game Ive played this gen. Lol I m still hella hyped how good this game is. Why was this game not GOTY anyway lol?
Ye I m kinda mad about myself that I havent given this game a chance earlier. Lol, but better later then never right?

Lets hope the Resident Evil and Silent Hill series are gonna make a huge comeback like this TR reboot one day.

2. DMC

First of all tbh I never expected this game being that good because
the last few DMC games I have played were kinda boring and not rly fun at all IMO.
But this new DMC game on PS3 is mind blowing and too epic to be described in words.
I feel like a total noob for not giving this title a chance when it was released.
I just had the chance to play it when it was released on PS+ for free and was like
WOW lol.

Hell yay cant wait for the next DMC game now on PS4.

3. IGAU

The most fun fighting game Ive played since long. The only negative aspect I can tell ya about this game is when you play DS you will receive tons of hatemails lol.

4. TLOU

Ye, not much to say here. Rly good game with an amazing story and cool graphics. Multiplayer is bad though.

5. GTA5

Imo it was ok, but not as good as I expected it to be. Still in the top 5 list of me.



Havent played Bioshock Infinite yet and maybe there are some other rly good titles I might have missed in 2013.

If you're going to recommend games to people who maybe know nothing about them it would be nice to know what games you are talking about.

I was going to come in and say this as well. I'm assuming DMC is devil may cry but dont have even a guess at the other two.

Like Devil said, if you're bragging about the games to people by default you should at least include the full title even if its something obvious like Grand Theft Auto.

That aside, the only game on that list that I played this year was Tomb Raider. It was okay I guess, just really really linear. The graphics and voices were good, I'll give it that, but the game was very much on a rail and I was hoping for it to be a bit more realistic but instead it was "Lara Croft gets impaled by everything but can still run, jump, and climb unhindered."

I assume TLOU = The Last Of Us

IGAU...umm...Injustice, Gods Among Us probably.

I've had the most fun personally with Touhou 13.5: Hopeless Masquerade.
A new Touhou fighting game that didn't use the same style as the previous ones was met with some skepticism, but I like the floaty combat and new style.

In the Touhou community I work in though I am one of the few. Most people still prefer playing Hisoutensoku because it is more customizable and people fight on the ground.

I may have to try it out.

I'll go solely with games that were new to me in 2013, to avoid filling the list with MTG, D&D, Arkham Horror, Diablo 3, Civilization 2: Test of Time...

1) Cave Story
This is a great game. It's a metroidvania platformer. Its mechanics are solid, its story is great, the worldbuilding is really clever, a number of the characters are fun... and if you want a challenge, there's Sacred Grounds

2) Civilization IV
I was really dubious about this entry in the series at first, and even moreso after my first game. But... It's actually pretty good, I just had to let go of a number of preconceptions about strategy and ESPECIALLY combat that I had as a Civ 2&3/Alpha Centauri veteran. I still find its handling of war and unit combat pretty lame (Protip: Don't rely on a single unit, or even a small stack, to do ANYTHING other than scout and get slowly killed by barbarians. Also, Mook Chivalry sucks. I think I yelled "Don't just stand there! Hit him!" at my screen at least once), but the game makes up for it in its handling of diplomacy and cultural borders. I'll still play Test of Time, Alpha Centauri, and Civ 3 a lot, but I'll add this to the lineup too. I kind of miss "Warmongering Bastard" Ghandi though -- possibly because I have a long trained instinctive dread of finding I share a border with India.

3) Pandora's Tower
I'm not sure how much to say about this game... Most of the game is a Hack-n-Slash Adventure, but a lot of the charm is in the lore texts and NPC dialogue, especially the relationship building with the female lead. Combat's fun and the bosses are pretty inventive. You get only a couple tools, but they have lots of uses for exploration. I enjoyed it, at least.

GTA 5 and Heart of the Swarm were pretty fun

Started playing Last of Us in November but kept getting distracted from it and still need to finish it

Sry, I thought these titles were quite known in the gaming community like the shortcut when you say GTA.

and IGAU is Injustice

Liang you didn't like the multiplayer in TLOU? I think its pretty cool, far from the best multiplayer experience I've had but I like the fact that you have to compete with your own score all the time in order to progress your clan-size properly, also I think its a nice touch they did with the facebook thing that changes the names of the characters in your clan to names from your friendlist, even though I ain't got facebook and it doesn't do anything for the game itself besides looks but still. But yea I'm satisfied with the whole thing besides minor issues like score not counting in certain games (haven't figured out exactly when it comes to play but I've noticed that when I enter a game that's in progress I usually don't get the score even if its just started, then again its saved me a couple of times as well).

The Resistance: Avalon and Letters from Whitechapel.

I must say that I thought it was going to be this little simple thing the kids would enjoy I've been really enjoying Minecraft for PS3. I've had a bunch of fun being downstairs on my system and one of the kids upstairs on that one and we playing together in the same world. My daughter and I in her Dr. Who world are building tower cranes and highrises together. My favorite thing is when she goes "Geranamo!" and jumps off a tower crane. So cute.
I may have to give it a break though. I've been working on building an ingame to scale Mt. Doom and last night I was dreaming in blocks.
That's not a good thing.
