Nintendo's launched an online poll to see what character people want as Downloadable content in Smash Bros for 3DS and WiiU.
Who are you going to vote for?
Frankly I'm a little surprised nobody's started a thread about this.

I'm still undecided who I want in the game most. I could vote for all of them, or I could just let you guys help me narrow down the field. Here are my top contenders:

Nintendo Characters:
King K. Rool (Donkey Kong Country) - He's already doing quite well in the poll.
Dixie Kong (Donkey Kong Country)
Ridley (Metroid) - Pretty much the only way to give Metroid more representation. Plus he's a space dinosaur. SPACE DINOSAUR!
Paper Mario - The Mario crew is already overrepresented, but I feel P.Mario is unique enough to stand alone.

3rd Party Characters:
Rayman - Detachable limbs could make for some neat gameplay.
Simon Belmont (Castlevania)
Amaterasu (Okami) - I actually think Nintendo owns the studio formed by the people who made this game. Who owns the IP, I do not know.
Bomberman - Neat, but I worry there isn't much to base a move set on.
Banjo-Kazooie - Great potential, but they're owned by a company owned by one of Nintendo's rivals.
Shantae
Kalas (Baten Kaitos) - This is my longshot pick. Really I just want them to make another Baten Kaitos game.

Ridley would cover half the screen. What would his super smash be? Summon Kraid?

Bowser's pretty huge in some Mario games and Olimar weighs less than a quarter. They could just resize him to the size he has in the Melee opening sequence.

I need a compelling argument for Whimsicott. Other than being the best nintendo character.
Skull Kid is also cool, but I've never actually played Majora's Mask.

Voted for Amaterasu. Would be cool to beat face with a god dog, albeit without the sketchy element.

What if instead of Paper Mario we had somebody cool like Vivian, Bow, or Ms. Mowz?

I'll vote geno when I get around to it. Maybe some other stuff too.

I saw a post on tumblr where someone made cute art of a Paper Mario character for Smash. Many of his moves used his companions from the games like Bow (for a dodge) and Watt (Up+B, I think?).

What are you talking about sonic? He's in smash 4? and 3? I am confused. And yes you nominate anything from anywhere and then they most likely throw it in the trash.

You can vote for anybody. Not every vote is likely to be taken seriously though. And Sonic's already in the latest smash game so he can't be added. The vote's only for DLC so he can't really be removed either.

I havent played SSB since Melee. I missed Sonic when I scanned the wikipage's list of characters. Theres too much choice and not enough information for me then. Simon Belmont seems like a really cool choice, but what franchises are likely to have an actual shot?

Nothing can beat Shuckle. Took a super effective STAB from a pokemon twice his level and lost half his hp. And that was before Sturdy was broken.

Dunsparce is normal type so it bypasses the need for super effectiveness.

Tpman: probably any franchise Nintendo owns or has been on their consoles.
