Over in YMtC I'm making a supplemental product called Jakkard: Wild Cards. I thought it might be relevant to your interests. The first thread is here:

CKY's Wild Cards: The Wild Card Deck

Oh, this is *very* relevant to my interests. :D

CKY, these are sort of like, how shall I put it? Insanely great. Let's go with that.

Mechanically, I love the Wild Card deck and the Heist idea. Flavor-wise, it's also a perfect fit for Jakkard. I think you've captured the spirit of that world wonderfully, right down to the flavor text.

The cards seem great, too. I love that Antine accidentally made his way into the deck.

I can't wait to see what comes next. Thanks for sharing!

Antine accidentally winds up in a lot of places...

Poor Antine.

Also, this is really great! Thanks, CKY, and keep us posted.

Ok I am thrilled by this from the outset because I've always, always believed that Jakkard was best suited not to a block but to a supplementary product. So already I'm psyched.

And then every single card so far has just made me happier. The flavor text in particular is fantastic. You clearly put a lot of care into capturing the plane.

I'm just tickled pink :D

Edit: This text in particular made me grin like a fool: "The Northern Express pulled into Dayko with all the finesse of a rockslide."

Fantastic.

Yeah, I'm with Keeper. This is pretty great.

I love the flavor text On the Heist-Stones. That cycle is pretty cool.

As multiple people have commented, the flavor text is wonderful.

Although, thinking about the Northern Express making a splashy arrival in Dayko reminds me that, if anyone ever puts together a map of the cities on Jakkard, I will be in soooooo much trouble. Because I'm pretty sure that my descriptions of their spatial relationships have not been the most consistent...

Honestly, even a LIST of Jakkard towns might be difficult...

Let's see...

Verkell
Dayko
Zymmer
New Progress
Fortune's Folly
Dry Wells

Also, there are a few towns that either haven't been named or that I don't remember the names of, like the town Lia Xin finds herself in, the town Antine ascends from, and two towns from "An Angel Blinked."

Also, I'm probably missing a few anyway...

Admittedly, I only glanced, but I am legitimately disheartened that nothing from the story NAMED Wild Card made it in.

...yet.

Orchestrate

Sorcery (U)

Look at the top five cards of your library. Put one of those cards into your hand and the rest on the bottom of your library in any order.

Once again, cool stuff! A pity there's no in the deck, because I would love to put a False Demise in a Jackie deck.

Good work! Thanks!

Good work! Thanks!

We could color-shift False Demise into red. Something like:

Convenient Explosion

Enchantment - Aura

Enchant creature.
When enchanted creature dies, return that card to the battlefield under your control, and destroy target land.

The only thing better than going out with a bang is coming back with a second bang.

* * *

Also, CKY, I'll have more to say about these later, when I have a little time. But, for now, just know that this is insanely great, and I love it to pieces!

I want to take a longer look at these later but I like this quite a lot. I dig the use of a card from... that's Riovard's setting right? Very flavorful inclusion here. Dash is an interesting mechanic for this deck, and I kinda like its use here better than I did in its canon form haha. I particularly appreciate the variations on the mechanic in this deck that make for some fun strategic options.

The flavor is positively dripping here. Really great capture of the setting. I particularly like the off-color black fox! Very good choice there I'd say.

Duststorm Dragon is an interesting card! I like that it's not something explicitly described in the style guide--you're doing some cool worldbuilding here, and I think it strengthens the overall finished product because it means you've got something more than just a one-to-one capture of stuff from the Guide or the stories that would be inaccessible to someone who hasn't read the source material.

Pair of Knaves is a great card name. Really, A++ on that one.

You've got a great distribution of races, too--everything that shows up in red shows up here, plus some additional critters of the waste, and I think the choice not to have Nightstalkers and Demons in this deck makes a lot of sense.

Yeah, on the whole I'm really pleased with what you're putting together here.

I want to go back and look at this in the context of the Wild Card deck too but it might take me a bit to do that.

Very nice! Great timing, too, with the release of "Mistakes of the Past."

Thank you!

Should Husher Twins be legendary?

I'm a big fan of Determined Settler. A simple little common with an excellent window into the world--just what you want at that rarity really.

Your use of the Nomad type here makes me real happy.

I am very, very intrigued by Jailkeeper. The creature type, the flavor text... yeah, this is an intriguing addition to the setting that really begs for expansion in story form I'd say. Taken by the Sandman is similarly intriguing.

Brax's card is just delightful. Well done.

"The natives called it Stormbringer. The miners called it a day." Ahahaha

This is cool. Not quite as relentlessly themed as Raising Hell was but that makes sense. Once again I really appreciate the wide range we're seeing of different races and creatures--you've really fleshed the world out in some interesting ways. I'd love to take this for a spin.

You have a number of cards in here that care about artifacts though and enable artifact play but... no actual artifacts in the deck. I'm guessing that's for interactions with the Wild Card deck, but I worry that Iron Prospector in particular would be a fairly dead card more often than not...

There's no need to apologize! I was just worried that the story might have failed to leave an impression, is all.

Not at all, I just haven't actually read it yet >_<

It's on the list of things I need to catch up on now.
