I wanted to do this while I was thinking about it quickly. We've produced a lot of work since the last time we talked about doing a collection, and we might have enough now for several volumes of all original work. So, this is a tentative list of what those might be, sort of organized by the order in which I think they're like plausibly ready to go. I strongly encourage suggestions
SUBJECT------------------CLASSIFICATION---------COMPLETION STATUS Jakkard: Wild Cards------Plane Centered-----------Lots and lots of stories ready to go >>Jackie and Fisco-------Plane and Character------This big arc is complete with some spares Beryl Stories--------------Character Centered-------The first major arc is done War of the Wheel---------Character/Plane----------Complete Countdown to WotW?----Character Centered-------Maybe needs some more stories to flesh things out M:EM:ORIGINS-----------Multi-character------------Probably needs a bunch of stories M:EM:ORIENTERS--------Collection of good "starters"--Enough for a smaller anthology Poems of Raiker Venn----Character Centered-------Probably ready. Maybe poems and stories? Songs of Dominia---------Medium Centered---------Book of all our various poems? Maybe? Minutes to Midnight-------Apocalypse Centered-----Needs filling out
We could maybe have a few subject themed collections as well--horror, high fantasy, ascension stories, tragedy, romance, stories about identity...

We could probably just combine them all into one for simplicity's sake. Some like, "The Poems Raiker Venn wrote about Dominia before and during the War of the Wheel for Beryl, while on Jakkard."
Hmm. Perhaps not quite as concise as one might want...
Not that is already close to complete, but I still like the idea of doing a "Singleton" anthology, with stories and poems based off single, though not necessarily related cards.
Oh, also, we could do something with song-based fiction. I know some people base stories on songs. I think I've seen, uh, Orcish do that once in a while...
"Stories Based on Convoluted Puns or References to 90s Cult Classic TV Shows"
Yeah we might actually have enough Jakkard material to split things into two volumes... One with the style guide, some card designs, and short stories, and one with the complete Jackie story arc.
Saly I think it would consist of Corrosion right now and that's it, but some day I hope we can release "Phyrexia in the Multiverse: The Compleat Stories"

Oh man let me tell you I have wanted to do a Phyrexia collection for ages now but no one else seems that interested except you
We do have a number of Mirrodin/New Phyrexia stories from the story contests actually that could feed into that, and my sequel to The Interrogation... but yeah not enough yet to be a collection.
I have the title and cover image all worked out though. It'd be called Unlife Cycles, it'd be structured around Phyrexia's death and rebirth, and the cover would be an HR Giger style biomechanical fetus...

I Have Lots Of Feelings About Phyrexia
Honestly, I could probably work one out, but it has not been high on my list in any capacity. I mean, this is the kind of thing I'd have to Patreon to get done.

I feel like it makes sense at this point honestly to focus on what we're close to accomplishing by random brownian motion than pre-planning stuff. We just don't have the userbase we'd need for another Seasons of Dusk/Fragments and we all seem pretty hell bent on exploring whatever strikes our fancy at the moment (or slogging through our respective writing lists) so planning to divert all that action into producing an anthology that only like two of us are SUPER ENTHUSED about doesn't seem that practical.
Ruwin, as a fellow fan of Alternian film cultures, will no doubt agree.
I really shouldn't be doing this
"Wherein a hard-boiled, old planeswalker arrives on the Western-based plane of Jakkard in order to conduct the semi-legal business of selling cigars, and is promptly interrupted by the tribulations of a local woman, whose pleas originally fall upon deaf ears but as the weeks pass slowly worm their way into the old planeswalker's black heart, after which follows intense violence, blackmail, general skullduggery, angels, demons, a traitorous viashino and minotaur, who are unrelated, regrettable murder, commendable murder, at least three explosions and a centaur barkeep - after which, the local woman is killed and additional murder ensues, birthing a planar ghost story and setting the tone for the rest of the plane, which is immediately followed by a red-eyed woman of dubious origins acquiring revenge upon her former partner-in-crime via disenfranchised husband, while occasionally changing perspective to earlier and later points in her life, which include a visit to a brothel whilst drunk, at least four banks heists, two murders, hijacking a train, saving a bullet-prone minotaur, requesting the services of a pair of unnerving twins, meeting the old planeswalker from the first part of this story arc, and striking a deal with this man of legend - until such a time that a bigger threat enters the picture in the form of an ancient and powerful chessmistress, who blackmails the old planeswalker into playing for her turn, whilst her counterpart engages a psychopathic rat with a vendetta against the old planeswalker for assistance in disrupting the powerful chessmistress's plans, which include but are not limited to removing additional planeswalker threats from the Western-based plane of Jakkard (such as a clairvoyant chaos mage with a penchant for gambling), acquiring absolute monopoly over the railway system, instituting an orderly social order, and gathering the magic of the local leylines for her own inscrutable purposes, all while her counterpart kidnaps the red-eyed woman's potential beau, forcing her into a maddened rage that levels most of the northern capitol city and pisses off a minimum of two demons before the old planeswalker returns just in time to talk the red-eyed woman down from her fury long enough to come up with a plan of attack, allowing the chessmistress to essentially win the day in the Western-based plane of Jakkard, while the red-eyed woman fakes her death, leaving only the barest of clues for her potential beau to follow. Contains not quite enough rattlers, too few nightsalkers, not quite enough Viashino, a great deal of swearing in the local dialect, angry minotaurs, placid centaurs, grinning demons, at least one sangromancer, two gifted twins, a haughty one-eyed angel, revenge, explosions, gunfire, violence, graphic violence, extremely graphic violence, torture, implied torture, implied graphic torture, two counts of prostitution, enough foxes to fill a Furry convention, untrustworthy djinni, a distinct lack of horses, two bruised egos, sexual content, implied sexual content, substance abuse, and death."
@The point of this thread: Yeah, I'm down for a Jakkard anthology or something.

...wait, only two counts of prostitution? Man, I really dropped the ball on that one.

I mean, I'm a known cheerleader for a Jakkard anthology, but I'll pick up my pompoms again. We definitely have the material for it, and I love the idea of having an anthology based around a community-built plane. I think that would be a really cool moment for the M:EM!
And, like you said, WotW is basically done. It's also wonderful! It would be a shame not to give that the royal treatment as well.

As Jackie's creator, OL, what do you think about the idea of splitting the anthology into the Jakkard Anthology and the Jackie Anthology? It's tricky because the plotlines are really interlocked but it might be worth doing...

Honestly, I like the idea of keeping them together. Jackie is so much a product of Jakkard -- she *belongs* on that plane like a fish belongs in the ocean. I think that, if she had a vote in the matter, she'd want to be part of the larger story.
That being said, I could see how the sheer bulk of Jackie stuff might start to take over the anthology, if that's the concern. But the romantic in me likes the idea of her story being part of the greater whole.

Yeah I think a takeover could happen? But we do have a lot of content, and like Szat's sort of mini-cycle of 13 stories for Seasons of Dusk I think it'd be cool to have that threaded throughout the anthology.
I think I took the opposite position up thread but I've sort of reversed my stance on it since then I guess
Just so you know, I have 2 Jakkard stories in the works (though admittedly one is being outsourced (in theory)) and another, completely divorced Jakkard story concept that I have been wanting to write for AGES.

Yeah people don't stop from writing more Jakkard stories. I wonder if we should put a cutoff point for this anthology so that it doesn't become massive and so we can immediately start building up to the next one...
Also we might want to think about opening up for submissions from outsiders again since it could be a good way of getting people involved.
