Post subject:  State/Fate of planes-in-progress?

I have some questions about the state of the planes in the overall M:EM. Since I've been out of the loop for a long while, I want to get up-to-date.

1. In the Random Plane Generator that I wrote before the Apocalypse, I listed several M:EM draft planes. I want to keep my Generator up-to-date with new planes that have been voted into M:EM, and I don't want to keep references to drafts that have been deleted from every corner of the internet because it's super depressing, and what's the point of referring to something nobody can ever read?

I'm trying to find out the state of the following projects, drafts, and planes mentioned in passing:

Ahden
Albtraum
Borgad
Cimice Mors
Diguo
Ezereth
Gigarium
Glirodisaea
Isvæo
Krathia
Matahourua
"Mirror"
Naermagia
Namacanaan
Negassar
"Pale World"
Sri Hara's homeworld
Stella
Szinada
Underrim

2. I also want to confirm my impression that the following have been voted into the M:EM:

Adrisar (Layered World)
The Amphiseum
Arbagoth
Dolranu
Helkavin
Shandrovol

3. Was it ever decided whether Sertaria had inhabited moons, and what they were?

4. What is Starstill? People keep referring to it, but I don't see it or any summary of what it is.

Again showing my ignorance, I'll have to defer to Keeper, Barinellos or Luna on the fate of the planes you listed. Honestly, most of them are unknown to me.

For the confirmation, however, I can tell you that the Amphiseum, Arbagoth and Helkavin are all confirmed voted-in, and Shandrovol was expanded on and voted in during May. I'm honestly not familiar with Dolranu.

The issue of Sertaria's moons came up not long ago, and I think people were shying away from the inhabitable moons angle. Here's a link to the thread: Should Sertaria have its moons

Starstill is a community set being created over in YMTC. Check out the Community Sets subforum, and you'll see a bunch of stuff tagged [Starstill].

By the way, thanks for making that random plane generator. I wrote a poem using it (I think I posted it to your original thread) and it also served as inspiration for Keeper's Random Plot Generator, which we've been having fun with on the M:EM board.

Huh. It looks like that conversation never came to any conclusion. Were Forbidden (the undead world) and that other place converted to the new archive?

Yeah, Dolranu doesn't ring any bells. I don't think it's actually part of the Archives.

I'm pretty sure none of the planes from question 1 are in the Archives.

This forum has a really competent search function, though, so you can search for "[Plane]" (including the brackets, because that's how we tag the Archive) in the M:EM Archive and it should get you a roughly-current list of planes in the Archives. I'm still in the middle of uploading a lot of stuff, though, so don't worry too much. I could give you a list of what I haven't gotten to yet, if you'd like.

Starsill is a big (and by my understanding the first) full card set being designed over in the YMTC subforum. There's been interest generated because A. the AF&S/M:EM people were invited to help make the flavor of the set and even integrate the world with the M:EM; and B. the idea of creating an "NGA Core Set 1st ed." using M:EM settings and characters for flavor with the ultimate goal of a playable Standard format on some custom card gaming program was brought up recently. Even a M:EM character, Gruff the goblin, has been decided as an important character to Starsill flavor, by what I understand.

Those planes you mention as Sertarian moons haven't been singled out for upload yet, but again, you can use the search function to find every plane I've gotten around to so far.

The bolded above are mine and still in progress or are very occasionally getting incrementally updated.
They even were put into a thread which has sunk a kind of low on the boards. You can still find them in "Barinello's Unfinished Atlas"
The primary issue with virtually everything from the Atlas comes from issues of compilation. By and large, the information is here, but needs formatting. If you want to help me get it presentable, I can totally work with that.

The struckthrough above are... well... they're dead Jim. Either their creators have left or, to be frank, they weren't strong enough to walk on their own.

The italicized above are still in active development, but they aren't mine, so I can't speak for them.

The unmarked are things that I don't even recognize, which says quite a lot in several ways when you think about it.

We had/have a plane called "Stella?"

I remember it. I only vaguely recall murky memories, but I could have sworn that there was some mention of it since the move. If not, then it's probably still stewing in the septic tank that is the old forums.

The name rings a bell for me, as well. I feel like Barinellos is right on the money with it having been mentioned since the move, but darned if I can remember where.

I've been resisting the urge to do this, but we also have a Streetcar named "Desire" too.

I've always thought that was a horrible name for a plane, partly because it's a person's name, but mostly because
Steelllaaaaaa!

Yeah, the Tennessee Williams reference is all I ever think of when I hear that name.

Also, Barinellos,

Is it horrible that I've never seen the original movie/play/whatever that I just referenced?

Since I've been compiling movies and other works whose influence has ultimately grown larger than the original source... No, it's cool.

No. Because of growing up with The Simpsons and other highly referential shows, I know all kinds of references from stuff I had never experienced first-hand. Now, I've caught up on a number of them, but still.

That being said, I do enjoy Tennessee Williams, and do suggest the play, if you're into plays. I also HIGHLY suggest Death of a Salesman, which is Arthur Miller and not Tennessee Williams, but it's my favorite play, and since we were on the subject, you know...

That's an interesting project. What sorts of things do you have in that collection? I mean, I'm sure I can think of a couple, but I'm pretty interested in that.

Just to name some of the stuff off the top of my head:
The Warriors, The Shining, Taxi Driver, The Usual Suspects, The Graduate, and Se7en.

2001: A Space Odyssey would probably be a good addition. I almost wrote about the remediation of Clarke's "The Sentinel" into that film in my graduate SF class, but chose to write about Ursula K. Le Guin's The Left Hand of Darkness instead. But the interaction between "The Sentinel" and 2001, and then the simultaneous novelization BY Clarke into the novel 2001 is really fascinating to me.

Thanks, Barinellos!

Stella was the location of a story involving... witches and defenstration, I think.

Negassar and Krathia have appeared in stories. Krathia is where Molcru hangs out sometimes, I think.

At least those were stories in the previous archive.

Gigarium

Having done a lot of the work for this one myself, I hope to pull it up for salvage sometime soon. Sadly, it may have to be *salvage* as a lot of involved members may not have made the transition, to give their blessing to further work and eventual voting.

2. I also want to confirm my impression that the following have been voted into the M:EM:

Adrisar (Layered World)
The Amphiseum
Arbagoth
Dolranu
Helkavin
Shandrovol

Adrisar was straight up voted in, as I believe were Arvagoth and Helkavin. Shandrovol was added with a briefer writeup as implied canon after a story -- Raven's entries may have been the same way but if they were, their writeup was more complete. I must confess I don't recognize Dolranu off the top of my head.

Archivist, may I please have the list of planes yet to be migrated?

Also, I think it's worth asking the NGA moderators to give us separate sub-sub-fora for archived Planes, Planeswalkers, Stories, and Canon/Infinite Flavor Library. It'd be more organized and easier to find stuff.
