Yeah, the marine metaphor is a bit of a stretch, but the concept behind it was the visualization of ideas too cool not to share, but which have no attachment to anything, nor any prospect of being used. So this is a thread which we will use to basically idea drop and brainstorm things. Maybe it'll end up being picked up later, but these are things that we have to get out of our heads. So, I'll start the ball rolling. Since God is now an actual creature type, I have this shadowy idea of using it in conjunction with Demon to create a demon god on some horrible wasted world. That's not actually even all that unusual or interesting, but it's more the facility needed for the real idea I have. If there is a demon god, he, by all rights, will have servants, and THAT is where this comes from. Devil Nymphs. Anyways, if you have any ideas just hanging in your head, feel free to drop them here. |

Not much on ideas at this moment. I have to retook over something, but I might have a place for your demon thingy. |

I have a number of ideas that I will never realistically expand on, as well as some ideas that are nothing more than a few words or a sentence long. I believe a while back I uploaded them all to a "personal info dump" thread on the mothership group. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to upload them here, but the problem becomes keeping this thread sufficiently afloat to have any realistic chance that someone will raid it for ideas. |

Keep some ideas behind to bump this thread? Anyway, here some ideas: Using crystallized emotions as drugs (actually Keeper's idea, might get into Sertaria) Turtlefolk |

I forgot about the crystalized emotion thing... that's not a bad idea, actually. Huh. |

I think we were talking about Faskeria at the time, but if we had the idea earlier, I might have pushed for making it a planar-wide thing. (Because that's the main thing I think Sertaria suffers from, lack of interconnectedness.) |

I would like the idea of a 5-color walker, but I'm not really sure how he/she/it would work |

Ragrio wrote: I would like the idea of a 5-color walker, but I'm not really sure how he/she/it would work It's been discussed at earlier points that, personality-wise, every 'walker is 5 colors because every person is 5 colors; it kind of depends on what proportions. But it was kind of decided that a 'walkers colors are more decided on by the type of magic they use to fight with more than how they behave. |

So what about a walker who uses all colors of magic equally to fight with? |

Doesn't Zhiran use all five colors? Raleris can use all five but tends to stick to blue. |

Huh. So he... makes bonds with nonbasic islands? That's quite an odd restriction, and an interesting one. |

While he knows a ton of spells that require more colors, he views them as tools rather than anything more complex. He has no passion for their use. |

I have this vague concept of developing a world where legendary creatures are a HUGE thing. Something of a combination of the Cabal's Gladiatorial Pits and Bant's exaltation matches. Also, can we get a sticky on this thread? |

Barinellos wrote: Also, can we get a sticky on this thread? I'm stickying this for now. This puts our sticky-count at 4 which is probably the maximum, in my opinion. This doesn't mean I'm unwilling to sticky future posts, but it does mean that I'd rather get to another solution. If we get enough threads that are worth visiting, maybe we should have one sticky that links to all those threads. |

(Note before I begin: I'm probably going to slowly submit all the ideas I mentioned in my first post.) A plane that has a magical "black hole" -- a point on the plane that acts as a vortex and a gateway into the plane's past. Step through the portal and you will find a "recording" of the past, the point just before the vortex was created. I never decided whether staying to the "end of the recording" -i.e. when the vortex started- would destroy the person who entered, start them back at the beginning of the "recording", or eject them from the vortex. Note: the idea was based on the Magical Storm arc of Soul Eater. |
