I'm in, I suppose. Any preference on which quest I handle? I was thinking Ior Ruins, but I'll tackle just about whichever.

To the best of my understanding, Deckhopper, if it doesn't have a name after it, it's wide open, so I think Ior Ruins can be all yours! Glad to see you're interested, I haven't seen you around too much lately, and I like your stuff!

So I'm about half way through Seasons of Dusk, is it expected that these stories will loop back around like certain characters and such do in Seasons? I'm already nervous I'm not chugging along at a fast enough pace let alone that I may miss some essential elements to be added. Of course criticism and voting will come about before anything is considered finished, but all the same, kind of want to know some expectations. I'm loving Seasons of Dusk so far, and unfortunately Zendikar is not as fleshy as Innistrad is IMO. So hopefully I can stretch my thinking muscles for this project and just cross my fingers for any Ravnica or Theros in the future, then I think I might have a field day. For the time being, trying to get this Sunspring Expedition on a roll.

Family wants me to finish writing a novel before the big ten year reunion over the fourth, I've got to crank out that short story I've been putting off, and summer season is crazy season for both the hotel and the site I mod for. So rather than spending my off time at work writing, I've been filling out incident reports and chasing down oath breakers. I've been lurking in the shadows, mostly, but hopefully once the reunion is done I can go more active.

Hey, Deckhopper! :D Glad to see you here, and glad to see you joining the project!

@Plane:

You may note that the recurring characters are all (unless I'm forgetting something!) Szat's characters.

I don't think anyone is expecting you to reach Szat's stunning levels of obsessive detail.

(psst check the number of stories he wrote for the anthology)

Oh okay, that's good to know. I realize now that it's benefitial I have a tight DM friend to take some inspiration from for this story lol If I'd submitted for Seasons when it was still in development I have a Horror buff friend who could have given me a lightbulb to work with lol

I think the recurring characters in Seasons was pretty much solely Tevish's doing. He wrote a full 13 stories for that, and they sort of moved towards a crescendo at the end when a bunch of those characters converged. It worked out really well. But I don't think we're necessarily looking for that kind of inter-connectivity with this one. Of course, if you write more than one and feel you have a useful and interesting way to connect them, feel free.

It'd be pretty tricky to coordinate something as complicated as what Szat pulled off within the stricter constraints of this...

Specifically, all my stories in the anthology are tied together due to characters from one continuing on to or making a cameo in another. Johnathan Blake and Adrianna Moore in particular show their faces thrice each, though one of Blake's appearances is blink-and-you'll-miss-it short.

I'm glad someone has noticed the recurrence. I should probably re-post the chart of all the ties sometime.

Also, this is totally on the docket, though I also have [Spoilers; in progress; maybe soon] and Conspiracy up

Agreed. Plus, by it's very nature, this is a smaller collection, so there is less to work with from that viewpoint.

I am by no means an experienced writer, and I took on the Sunspring Expedition because I feel I can handle it and make it work as a short (enough) piece, but curious as to how a Fiora story would operate minus the author guessing game.

I've been hoping someone would take that one.

Any idea where on the scale you want to place it?

Because we should start considering where these stories are being placed in the "Getting Worse" ray.

What, may I ask, are you meaning? The "getting worse" ray?

@Barinellos:

I think the first line from the story is going to be something like:

"What do you mean they're raining from the sky?

A ray is a line originating from a single point.
The structure of the anthology is such that as the stories proceed, the condition of the world and the Eldrazi presence loom larger, until the Quest for Ula's Temple where we directly encounter them.

@Barinellos:

I think the first line from the story is going to be something like:

"What do you mean they're raining from the sky?

Honestly, I'll be really really sad if the Goblin rules of survival don't make an appearance.
