[I think] I did find a roundabout way to get the Wayback Machine to save the Ice Age comic pages from the Coldsnap site. Hopefully the same can be done for the Antiquities comics.Nope, most had already borked.

As for the rest...(which mostly aren't superseded by post-Revision novels) they're available online illegally... I don't know if I'm allowed to discuss that on this forum.

Aaaaah you know I was looking for my comic files and I realized that they're on a disc at home. Sorry, I won't be able to do an inventory of what I've got until I get back in December... >_<

If the Scars block flash hell is still up, I actually need to venture in there (unless some brave soul is willing to go in my stead) and make sure the endings to the stories are all recorded. I don't think that one thread got all of them. Though it be harrowing indeed, I need to check.

What is/was the url? Anyone know?

Yeah. But seriously..... Well, it's gone. So that last Unctus story is gone unless the Wayback caught it, which I doubt.

Edit: Wow, my new laptop is SO much faster than my desktop computer.
Got the non-Mirrodin minisites and stuff saved, with these exceptions:

Torment, Judgment, Onslaught block, & Lorwyn minisites (gone).
Planeshift and Apocalypse art previews (don’t know why, both were crawled before Odyssey).
Apocalypse sample chapter (gone).
Apocalypse hypercomic (Again, it was crawled before Odyssey, so I don’t get it. I also wonder why this one and the Planeshift comic aren’t online in static comic form like the Invasion comic.)
Rise of the Eldrazi puzzles (links go directly to wallpapers instead, but whatevs, wallpapers are more valuable).
Return to Ravnica and Theros block minisites (no point), although I saved their product pages which did have some art.
Orbs of Insight, set Mechanics pages, and Visual Spoilers (no point) unless somebody else Archived them.
Conspiracy minisite (doesn’t exist?), but I save the product page and announcing Arcana which had some art.
YouTube videos, because the Wayback Machine malfunctions on YouTube? (halp)

Did Conspiracy have a Minisite? Does anyone know how to get YouTube videos archvied by the Wayback Machine?
Other than that, I'm ready to clean up/organize my url lists and them move on into Phyrexia.

Edit: Even found the Kamigawa websites, they had already been archived by somebody. The urls were strange but some writer kindly linked to one in an Arcana.

i've finished putting all the urls from my records into the spreadsheet, and I've Archived, or found Archives of, the following things so far:

Spoiler

The next step is to start arching Phyrexia.com threads with useful info... but I could use some guidance. I know the 6th Sphere is where I want to delve, but I hope I don't have to open every thread... I don't think I can do all that. Are there particular topics I should look for? Or search for all threads by particular posters? (Can I do that there?)

Sorry I've been so absent Arcades.

Yeah the 6th Sphere is probably your best bet. I'm not sure how to tell you to search though, since it'll probably take a lot of digging... but anything that looks like it has official content, and anything started by Eidtelnvil or Squeeman or Jaya or Mort/Ashtok is probably worth checking out.

I probably can stand to dig through all the threads since I'm good at scanning, but if you could do a first sweep to check more obvious locations that'd be awesome. Is it too much work to make a record of which threads you check?

Thanks Keeper. It may be possible for me to make a record like "starting from top in X forum, last checked Y thread" but that's only if I open and read every single thread... not sure how I would keep track if I only opened some.

What I don't know is what threads to actually archive. It isn't always clear to me what is official content, when it's quoted or referred to by somebody un-official. Also should I be save storyline speculation, fanfics, etc.? I'm probably not a good judge of quality in those things, but if there are gems of wisdom I'd rather save them if possible.

I almost wonder if it might not make more sense for you to jump ahead to lower-priority works that are nevertheless easier to sift through because to be honest my heuristic for this is going to be extremely adaptive and I'm having trouble figuring out what the actual sort of codified system is to tell you how to do what I would do...

I guess my approach is more art than science?

Hmmm.... it's true that I don't do well with vague things, and have trouble being adaptive if I don't feel like I know the subject really well... I'd feel odd if you had to double-check my work anyway, and I'd feel bad if I missed something that then fell off the internet forever.... but how much sadder would it be if I didn't get to archiving those forums at all before they died?

But if you don't consider the Phyrexia and old Wizards forums to be Emergencies in Need of Immediate Rescue, I could start archiving flavorful articles when I next have time.

I have a massive index of links that I could provide for that.

I think we're safe for the moment honestly. It'll need to be done soonish, but phyrexia's held on this long...

Somebloodyhow....
Seriously, who the hell is paying the servers costs for that?

Oh, and Jeff Lee showed up at Salvation today. So... you might be able to get his attention. Squirle asked after the Revision and it ended up attracting him.

I'm not on Sally but please send me your list of links to Websites on Life Support.

As for Phyrexia... maybe they moved servers to New Phyrexia and the mana balance can keep them going indefinitely?

Oh, they aren't on life support. They're from the archived incarnation of Wizards. It's information that isn't readily available. The kind of stuff that is threatened to be lost simply because it's a needle in a haystack.

They had to kill everything on the new server first.
.... I'm not going to lie, I sort of want to see a Tron-esque version of the Phyrexia storyline now.

Still, please send them my way Barinellos! I'll put them on the back burner (lower priority than things not archived) but they'll make their way into the Tome of More Flavor.

Keeper, please let me know what I should work on next. I depend on your wisdom to guide my steps! Or actually, when I get back to the project I'll just do the archive.wizards articles.

Also, this:
The incomplete Fool's Gold has been ported from the old Wizards forums!

Finishing this set will be quite a trial, as I lost the MSE file with all my notes and cards in progress in an accident. Also lost is the complete text of Philosopher Scepter's diary, which will be scattered across Fool's Gold ICDs in the old Wizards forums for crazy archive-delvers to decipher... how fitting.
Should we dig up and archive Philosopher Scepter's Journal, too?

I am ready to tackle this project again.

Priorities have changed due to my wordless, primal terror at the thought of trying not knowing how to do flavor triage on the entirety of the Phyrexia and old Wizards fora without an unambiguous metric for priority. So:

X. Should I save Philosopher Scepter's diary? This would be in the YMTC section of Wizards, right?
Y. List of my priorities as of now:

Spoiler

If anyone else does take on the task of saving valuable material from the old Wizards forum into the Internet Archive, and you want to save a url that will bring the browser to a specific post in an Archived thread, here's how to do it:

Spoiler
Doing that allows the user to navigate within the Archived thread, between pages, just as they would in the live thread, and if you want to save multiple separate posts (as I did on the old Tome of Flavor) it saves you (and the Archive) from having to Archive each post as a separate url, and saves the user from having to load the whole page over and over.
