The realization that you may have just made yourself a visible target among the darkness without a weapon begins to fray your nerves. Waiting around for your rescue puts you at a little disadvantage against your own nervous thoughts.
{-1 Sneak} {Status: Nervous} For now, nothing seems to jump out at you from the shadows. What do you do while waiting?
Dr Demeto
Your hostage begins to weep and beg for their life. You have less than a minute before your hideout is stormed.
What do you do with the hostage?
masterofdoom
You bumble about in the darkness, looking for a doorhandle around waist height. You find something which feels like it might be it, but it's kind of fleshy.
What do you do with this find?
Trolljuju
Your TEETH OF UNIMAGINABLE STRENGTH easily chew through your leg. A new one grows back within moments, allowing you to weild your old appendage as a bloody bludgeon against anything which might come out of the shadows to attack you.
{Trait: Iron Jaw} What do you do now, so equipped?
Ruwin
In your dreams, you are guided by the Presider Over the Dreamscape herself, and given visions of the might-have-been and never-was. You are given dire warnings and gentle encouragement. You are
weirded out.
How long do you dream?
Aaarrrgh
You recall a million wings stirring the foulest of breezes, but the voice in the darkness breaks your concentration. "Hello?", it calls again, sounding closer this time. "Hello? Hello?" you hear it call, in higher and lower pitches as if trying out a new set of vocal cords.
What do you do?
Lilan
You open the door to find the two poltergeist in the other room which you were hiding from, still skulking about. They might not have noticed you yet.
{Trait: Perception} What do you do?
Heliosphoros
Through the opening which you blasted comes a blinding light followed by a torrent of candy. The candy flows into the room like sand grains from a dune, blotting out the light and burying you beneath its bulk. Thanks to your barrier you sustain no damage, but now you find yourself trapped beneath a slew of sugary sweets.
{Ability: : deal two damage.} {Status: Barrier} What do you do?
Now that this poll is officially over, it's time to congratulate Aaarrrgh for designing Hill, which has been decided by popular vote to be the Card of the Month for October 2013!
Oh man, that DOES weird me out. At least my dreams don't last very long, so I can figure out what was up with that dark room...
...
Huh, nope, this is still going on. Wait - I'm aware that I'm in a dream? Alright... Time for some lucid dreaming! Awwhahaha yeah. The dreamscape is my oyster - no, wait now there's oysters everywhere. Uh, maybe - oh, gross. Let's just... Dragons. Ok, I'm a dragon now. Cool.
I keep dreaming, wondering why I forgot about the dreamscape lady already - what dreamscape lady? What dream? Oh, look, an unsuspecting village! I AM FIRE AND DEATH!

Why do I suddenly feel as though I have stumbled into one of my own Call of Cthulthu one-shots?
Well, I probably do what I usually do when I'm waiting for something, which is to start humming to myself, and singing whatever song is currently stuck inside my head. Which, at this precise moment, would be "Rikki, Don't Lose That Number" by Steely Dan.
So let's assume that I start tapping my foot, and muttering under my breath:
Rikki, don't lose that number, you don't wanna call nobody else. Send it off in a letter to yourself. Rikki, don't lose that number, it's the only one you want. You might use it if you feel better when you get home.

You must pass an explosives check to continue.
What kind of explosives are you using?
Heliosphoros
You eat until you cannot eat any more, which fills your stomach with the candy. You make it out of the room, though you'll be slowed down by the sickly sweet mass.
{Ability: : deal two damage.} {Status: Barrier} {Status: Encumbered} What is waiting for you beyond the candy?
Trolljuju
Using the gas from your stomach combined with your INVINCIBLE TEETH, you burp out a flame which lights your unattached limb on fire. You may be able to see now, but be careful that swinging that leg around doesn't put out the fire.
{+2 Sight} {Trait: Iron Jaw} What do you do now?
Lilan
The ghosts take notice of your presence, and it seems as though they might charge at any moment. Someone slips out from behind a wardrobe, making a hasty escape behind the ghosts while their attention is on you. Your predicament does not appear any better than it had.
{Trait: Perception} How do you combat the ghosts?
Aaarrrgh
You try but fail to move! Your mind runs through the items you know you should have on you. A fob watch, a religious necklace, an amulet, and a feather. The voice seems to be getting closer!
What do you do?
Ruwin
As you descend upon the village, another dragon races across the sky to engage you. It is protecting the village!
How do you react?
Orcish
A hand grabs your shoulder from behind. "Just what in the bloody infinities is that supposed to be?" a rough voice asks.
Huh, awkward, I didn't smell any scent markers during my approach... Uh, uh, oh crap they seem mad, uh. Well, now I can't back down without seeming like a tool but I really don't want to fight another dragon. Ok, so I'm going to change from the "I AM FIRE AND DEATH" approach to the "I AM FIRE BUT NOT REALLY DEATH MAYBE WE COULD LIKE CIRCLE AROUND IN THE SKY AND CHILL FOR A BIT, HAHA, JUST PASSING THROUGH" approach.
I mean I hope this other dragon is a reasonable sort of dragon, yo, I wouldn't want to deprive another dragon of a villageful of like, servants or anything. Talk about rude.
It does not occur to me that, as a dragon, concern about social niceties should be at an all time low.
I spend to light it up and start waking my teammate. It's time to get moving again, or we'll be late.

I use the feather to open the secret compartment in the amulet, releasing the small case of poison darts which I slip into the slot on the fob watch, where they can be fired by clicking the wind-up dial. With my secret weapon prepared, I firmly grasp my necklace in my other hand, and whisper a prayer.

The charges are set up in a ring around yourself and your hostage. Before your hideout is stormed, you detonate the charges and ride the hunk of floor down.
How far do you fall?
Ruwin
The opposing dragon is having none of that, and you notice why. A tiny being is riding atop it, clinging fiercely to the horns behind its head.
A roar, a screech, a call. The countryside below you panics as more dragons take to the skies from the nearby mountains and begin to converge on your position. The first dragon bellows its challenge and rushes at you.
How do you react?
Arcades
The room is brightened by your spell and you search among the naked bodies, most of which grumble in response to your light, for your teammate. You desparately begin to wake them from their grog-induced stupor before you're both late.
How do you attempt to wake your teammate?
masterofdoom
There is little give, and a gruff voice comes from somewhere above "You wanna play?"
How do you react?
Aaarrrgh
A twisted amalgam of insect and... something resembling a human skitters close to you in the darkness. Too close. You unload three poisoned darts into its side before it lunges, and back (hopefully) out of its reach. In the darkness, you see it make a few halfhearted lunges for you before slumping to the ground, unmoving.
What do you do now?
Trolljuju
You begin to search the room by the light of your impromptu torch. Blood stains the ground where you stand - oh, wait, that's yours. As you look around, you notice that the floor is covered in so much grime that you can't make out what the floor is actually made of. No sounds other than your flaming limb can be heard.
{+2 Sight} {Trait: Iron Jaw} What do you find in the room?
Orcish
The gravelly voice says "Sounds like something from a goblin camp. And what're you doing in the dark, anyway?" A small fire emanates from a fingertip, revealing a short man with an aged, round face and big ears. He appears to be wearing some sort of trenchcoat. "How'd you get my coin?" he asks.
{Status: Nervous} How do you respond?
Lilan
The ghosts do not appear pleased to see you. Their ghastly visages slide from pale white to crimson, and they both charge directly at you.

I shake my teammate and yell "Wake up dammit! This is why you don't drink during Scavenger Hunt!"
