Yeah, considering this is already a plane where red and white represent time... I'd say that adding another bucked expectation is probably not a great plan. :P

Still got nothing as far as what the overarching concepts for our last set can be :/

Like, once you've got The World and Time locked in, there's not a whole lot else to work with, you know?

...Wait, what if white/black is something like... Form? I'm thinking like... being and nothingness is analogous to positive and negative space. Being and nothing is the contrast that allows Stuff to Be. Does that approach something resembling sense?

Yeah, I think I see where you're coming from. At the very least in the negative space it creates.
Conceptually I think it's sound, but I wonder if there is a better title for it.
Damn you synonyms!

I have an inkling of what to do with Motion/Stillness, but it's coming together lopsided.

So I did have a thought as to what UR's domain could be, playing on the concept of motion/stillness.
What would you all think of hir being the god of the Cosmos? The heavens as opposed to the world.

There are a lot of ways this plays, I think, in the heat of the day and the cold of night, the way the stars move while remaining still. Just seems like it would fit, and slip into the kind of zen mindset the god would likely have.
It would also give us another semi-pair in the same way Time and Fate have a relationship.

Which would just leave W/B.

I can get behind this theory.

I like that a lot. That's very evocative and makes The World make a lot more sense.

The trick will be keeping that from feeling too close to Nyx. That's my one concern.

W/B is somewhere between Meaning (playing off the indulgence/denial aspect of the Being/Nothingness dynamic) and Comprehensibility (playing off the Positive/Negative Space aspect) but I don't know that there's really a word for that.

...Screw it, let's just call it Umami.

I feel like, when I make jokes on this board, it's like I'm driving a car during a high speed chase and there's always the possibility that Raven is just going to reach over and just... wrench the wheel and the joke just swerves into the opposing lane with a screaming of tires and we go shooting off in another direction.

It's all very exciting.

Yeah, sometimes I remind me a lot of Christopher Walken in Annie Hall, too.

I dunno, that's a pretty big departure from the celestial realm in general. I mean... there's nothing exactly similar in principle to Nyx. The gods are floating out there in space, sure, but they aren't constellations and it isn't a separate enchantment realm. People could, in theory, build spaceships and go bug the gods. It's all part of the same tapestry.

Ahm... Too Soon.

You are forgiven. FOR I AM A BENEFICENT HORRIBLE ELDRITCH MONSTER. I mean... god. yes. monster god.... god. No monster here.

Speaking of gods, even if we don't have an overdomain for the B/W solid yet, I feel like we're in a good place to go ahead with phase 2!

That which was not themselves
The longer the gods spent exploring their own thoughts, the more they began to realize that the things they learned, the forces that had shaped them, were lacking something. The world was not what had shaped them, though they had shaped the world from memory, those memories had belonged to others. The memories had meaning they could not fully grasp, belonging to beings infinitely more complex than they. It was these ancients that had prayed in their last moments, the memories which haunted the gods belonged to smaller beings of a vastly more numerous nature, a concept the gods had no words to describe.

In that moment of dawning understanding, they understood what they had to do. They pooled their powers and shaped the first being that was not them, and in that moment they understood another truth of their universe. They were divine, and in their creation, they discovered there were things that were not. However they were interrupted in their act of creation, for an argument broke out amongst them.

Each of them remembered the past of the same beings, but to each, the details of this new thing were wrong. They squabbled over minutia, unable to agree, and finally they truly lost patience with each other. Resentful, they declared that if they could not agree, they would work alone. From that conflict, the five races were born. In a flurry of creation, they filled the world with countless things, everything they could remember, and many other things as inspiration took hold.

Finally satisfied, the gods understood themselves in a way that they could not before. They understood the philosophies they had only dreamt of and in those acts of creation, their very nature crystallized and the power which they held came into sharp focus. They were gods and their will was that of Empyrean itself.

Ok NOW I get why you were so insistent that stuff like Denial/Indulgence didn't fit.

I see where you were going with that now.

...Did you have that written up this whole time?

The actual thing? No... several days ago.
The concept? Yeah, since the start.

So, the principle I'm thinking is that if we can nail down the various races, we can use that to shape the gods that supposedly created them.
Admittedly, it's something of a hail mary since I was hoping we'd get the character of the gods down, but I'll take some reverse engineering. We have at least 4 broad strokes of personality for the gods as is, so...

Anyways, Let's open the floor to suggestions.
While I see them being color aligned, I don't see their societies as being slavish to the colors of the god that created them.

I have no real reason why, but I'm leaning away from humans. Now, this might be slightly problematic, because for equally unknown reasons, I am leaning TOWARDS centaurs.

R/U seems fairly obvious given that we've picked Cosmos.

Moonfolk.

Yes?
