Now that this poll is officially over, it's time to congratulate Aaarrrgh for designing Hill, which has been decided by popular vote to be the Card of the Month for October 2013!
Aamir---Unknown Alessa Rehn---Bi or pansexual, cis, polyamorous Aloise Hartley---Unknown sexuality, probably cis, Aria---Unknown Asher---Cisgender, unknown sexuality (Keeper headcanons him as queer and kinky) Beryl, the Heart-Scarred---Attracted to women Cara Holis---Unknown Clade---Unknown, possibly sort of... beyond gender. Daneera---Unknown Denner Fabellian---Aggressively cishet. The Dual-Walkers, Syl and Chardis---Probably cis, Chardis attracted to at least one woman, Syl an unknown Ellia the Endbringer---Unknown sexuality, probably cis Fisco Vane, the Shark---Possibly het, very monogamous, maybe on the grey spectrum Gruff---Unknown Huinn, Last of the Darkwings---Unknown Illarion Vale---Known to be attracted to human women; otherwise unknown, seemingly monogamous Jade--Unknown Jinsen the Eightfold Lotus---Homoromantic Asexual Kahr-ret-Taris---So gay. Kimberley Talon---Heterosexual. (You are forgiven Ruwin) Kirsh of the Flats---Gay (or at least attracted to masculine presenting people of different races?) Larasa and Morgan---Unknown (in a committed het relationship) Lia Xin---Unknown Lourima Viiran---Has expressed attraction to at least one male human, otherwise unknown Lukas Harran---Not attracted to Kahr-ret-Taris Maral, Celestial Wright---Unknown Mari Gwynn---Really **** confused probably Molcru---Almost certainly asexual, and it's hard to apply cis or trans status to a lich that's half symbiotic bioengineered fungus Morgezka---Dragon that's into human men, probably cis although who knows with old walkers frankly, monogamous Raiker Venn---Seems to be attracted to women Raleris, the Lorekeeper---Keeper pegs him as mostly asexual these days but probably someone who experimented in his younger years Renn Winmoore---Cismale probably, unknown sexuality Rishima, Queen of the Black Sands---Unknown Sri Hara---Unknown The Duchess---Unknown The Shifter---Unknown Vasilias, Lord of Ariva---Probably really repressed, otherwise unknown Ygraine of Segovia---Unknown Zhiran---Not over his dead wife; possibly cisgender

Aamir---Unknown Alessa Rehn---Bi or pansexual, cis, polyamorous Cara Holis---Unknown Huinn, Last of the Darkwings---Unknown Maral, Celestial Wright---Unknown Rishima, Queen of the Black Sands---Unknown Sri Hara---Unknown The Duchess---Unknown The Shifter---Unknown Zhiran---Not over his dead wife; possibly cisgender
Well, I'll chime in on at least some of these if for no other reason than for some of them, it's good to have it out there for those characters, though I leave some of this open. Though going through the list... I really need to work on those damned edits for Raef. It sort of kills me that he's not on the list.
Spoiler
Aamir---Unknown: I haven't asked and he hasn't told. I think he might be a little too embarrassed to talk about it. Alessa Rehn---pansexual, cis, polyamorous: Pansexual if for no other reason than the pun about doing it with satyrs, though really Alessa is accepting of other people. She's very open minded. Cara Holis---Aromantic heterosexual cis Maral, Celestial Wright--- Virgin, possibly bi-curious at least, nominally cis since she has a complex over her perceived lack of femininity The Shifter---Unknown: I mean this in the most literal sense, I have NO CLUE how to count him other than he seems to primarily identify as male, but I'm not sure if he even has a biological sex to start with. Zhiran---Not over his dead wife; cisgender
I'd like to know what would happen if Raiker and the Duchess ended up in bed together...
Lots of white leather at the very least. though I think it would end poorly for whatever world it happened on, because that is one EPIC LEVEL battle for domination.

"probably" cis might be an understatement for Ellia when she can choose her own body parts (well, they're hers after she chooses them, at least.) and she remains stubbornly female (Oldwalkers in general are kind of interesting -- since their bodies were extensions of their mind until the Mending, one that felt he/she was something other than his/her biological gender could probably have become what they wished to be -- though we know Ellia suffered from mode-lock due to her body weighing heavily on her mind, I don't think that's normal)

So, to chime in and possibly help out, is there a complete list of everyone whom is being discussed? Keeper says there are 37 characters in the list but I can't completely trust that he's counting everyone. I have... 8, maybe 10, depending on how you count, characters backed up to my external hard drive that have yet to be uploaded to the Archives here. Those are the ones with dossiers, mind you.
As far as I know, the characters that haven't been added are (from the old archive) Agmund, Denna, and Akura, and (from votes) Pendulum and Mari Gwynn though she is in fact on the list now, her dossier just hasn't been added.
Nooot sure who the other characters that are backed up but not uploaded are.
Hm, the possibility of Nonbinary!Maral is very, very interesting to me...
She has an uncomfortable lack of experience in dealing with her own identity there, and that is tied into the later statement about her identity issues. But yeah, the first portion of this informs, at least partially, the second because she just doesn't know.
I felt I really did need to respond to that.

Asher is at least bisexual, since half his reason fro going crazy is the death of his wife/girlfriend (I need to revisit that to remember which I made it). I originally "intended", as put no thought into and thus defaulted to, straight. But I have no problem with him expanding into bi or pan sexuality, but he's got some demons to get over before he's a healthy partner for anyone. Similarly with Renn I just defaulted. In all honesty unless I specify, like I have with Agmund being gay, I intend to leave it open for others to develop since I don't care much for romantic plots. Although so far all of my characters are cis.
On a side note I've been wanting to revisit the idea of Minotaurs as a symbol of homosexuality with a gay minotaur planeswalker.

That's... kind of a new one on me. I'm, of course, not against homosexual characters, but I don't think I really like the idea of blanketing an entire species with symbolism like that.

I think it could work just fine. I mean it's a way of exploring that particular symbolism, not necessarily a demand that the symbolism hold true for all minotaurs.
Yeah it was more a reference to one of the planeswalker contests when prompted with minotaurs like half the entries were homosexual. We made a joke about somehow minotaurs being a symbol for homosexuality, and so it's been percolating in the back of my head for a while.
Race relations (in this sense) is something I like to thinker with. I've got and Illusion a mongoose and a snake, but the unofficial aside, I tend more towards anthropomorphic animals (and occationally other, weirder/more exoitic, things) when designing characters, so I might onset that balance a little.
