"Suppose only one of the Dual-Walkers ascended."

"Suppose Raleris embraced Phyrexia."

"Suppose Zhiran founded military orders rather than schools."

"Suppose Fisco Vane were allergic to smoke?"

I've always been fascinated by alternate realities, especially when it comes to characters we know. Things like the "What if" series in Marvel and the Infinite Earths of DC, and countless other examples, have always interested me. I'm especially interested in butterfly effect issues, like, if one, specific thing changes in a character's past, what are the consequences?

In that vein, I offer you the 'Suppose' Prose thread. Herein, I would like to see how people would view either their characters or one another's if a particular variable were changed. You can do this however you want. If you want to write a full fiction piece on it, knock yourself out! If you want to do a general write-up, cool! If you want to write one or two lines using board brushstrokes, no problem!

By the way, I would be remiss if I didn't mention that the thing that really got me thinking about this was something the Orcish said a while back. This thing, to be specific:

I've said in the past that I can imagine a very different version of Beryl, a version of her where she doesn't meet those people. A version of her where her demons do eat her away from the inside, and she descends into a very dark, very terrible place, where she loses the goodness which is inside her. That version of Beryl is dark, and terrible, and remorseless, and she scares the living daylights out of me. In a different multiverse, that's the sort of person this story might have turned her into.

This is exactly the sort of thing I'm hoping to see. The characters we know, in a way that makes them strangers to us!
Have fun!

I'll start things off with an alternate version of Kahr-ret-Taris! Enjoy!

Ah, a little Planar Chaos exercise. I'm fond of those.

@Tevish: I really like Dark Illarion. I picture him with a goatee, like Evil Spock.

@Helio: Pretty much, yeah! And so do I!

I told myself that I wasn't going to do this, but here it is:

The Grave

Based on this prompt. (Spoiler!)

Suppose that...

Well, one of them, anyway...

Wanna hear the one involving the kid from The Lie?

(I'm really sorry. Sometimes I'm just not a good person. Raiker Venn has an effect on me... :plot:)

Someone tell me when it's safe to come out?

If it would make you feel any better, feel free to fictionally ruin the lives of a few of my characters. :D

Or, maybe I can give you something nice for once:

The Flip of a Coin

Wait a minute...

She'd had her best shooter -- a rifleman who never missed -- put a bullet in that red-eyed upstart.

Sage never missed. Except once.

Hrmm... that is an interesting coincidence, isn't it?
