Yeah people don't stop from writing more Jakkard stories. :P I wonder if we should put a cutoff point for this anthology so that it doesn't become massive and so we can immediately start building up to the next one...

Also we might want to think about opening up for submissions from outsiders again since it could be a good way of getting people involved.

Jakkard is popular enough, too, that I think we might get some nibbles.

Yeah I think a takeover could happen? But we do have a lot of content, and like Szat's sort of mini-cycle of 13 stories for Seasons of Dusk I think it'd be cool to have that threaded throughout the anthology.

I think I took the opposite position up thread but I've sort of reversed my stance on it since then I guess :P

Yeah, I find that kind of interweaving very appealing. That way it's not just Jackie-Jackie-Jackie all the time. I love that we might have a Jackie story, then, say, a poem by Raven, or "Wild Card," or a microfic, or an excerpt from the planeswalker's guide, then maybe another Jackie story.

She's a planar native, after all. Her story is tied-up with Jakkard's. She's not 'walking away from the Waste when she's done with it. The Waste is her home. She lives there. She'll be buried there. (In her boots, as Ruwin put it.)

I'm all for a Jakkard mega-anthology that contains Jackie threaded through. I hope it's not too arrogant if I say that the interweaving plots (of which I considered Adrianna's story the core) were a very strong backbone for Seasons, and I feel like Jackie could be even more than that for Jakkard, even if she does end up dominating it to an extent.

Agreed on all counts, although I prefer to think of Jackie as "hijacking" it...

Yup, all of that makes sense to me. I agree that the interwoven stories from Seasons were great and I think that'll be good here, particularly since there's stuff like Wild Card and Two Bullets that doesn't actually seem like it's connected... right up until it really, really is.

Which is, btw, why it would be a good idea to wait out a little more until those two other stories I mentioned are finished. They are, ostensibly, follow up to other plots. Which is also why it'd be nice to let those finish things out, because they follow different threads that are still woven in through others.

Hm, could we maybe split the anthology into two parts like we split Seasons into three? One anthology but several volumes released over the course of a while?

Well, the question is what the logical division of the material may be, or if it's just an arbitrary part 1-X

I kind of like the idea of packaging things up like Zane Grey-style, dime Western serial. That would accommodate a format of volumes one through however many with a little bit of Jakkard flavor attached.

Another notion which I find myself enamored of -- although it would be much more difficult to pull together -- is to steal a page from Johnny Cash. There's a three-album Johnny Cash set called, "Love, God, Murder," with each of the three albums centered around one of those themes. I bet we could do something similar here, with some Jakkard-suitable themes.

I like the flavor for that. But I also like the first option, and that one would be much simpler.

Yeah I think getting the chronology and the themes to match up would be a special kind of hell unfortunately...

I updated the OP with a few more options! I'll keep updating it and we can keep talking about anthology possibilities here as interconnections become apparent in the dossier thread.

I'm tempted to bump Minutes to Midnight's thread again. I think we could do it...

I've got it on the list/I've got it on the list/They'll none of them be missed/They'll none of them be missed

I think we could do it, too, though I think it might take quite a bit of spot filling... it's worth keeping in mind as a thing to keep working towards, actually, as we each select what writing projects we want to focus on next...
