Finished! I really liked the way you brought everything around to the end. I think the Tattered King sort of wasted a pretty powerful advantage, with those three favors, but I see why it went down that way, particularly after how he contorted his bargain with Narissa. Speaking of her, I was mildly expecting her to put in an appearance at the end, just because all of the other characters were there, but again, I don't think things are any worse off for not having that.

I liked your little nod to the AEther vents in chapter 11, by the way.

The Tattered King is probably my favorite character in this, and more so even than the others, I'll be interested to see what he gets himself into later on. I also find it interesting that while the threat is temporarily defused, Dominia is really no better off, because Dantalion is still out there, and the Annulus still exists and is functional. So really, this can reset at almost any given time.

So yeah, I really liked this piece as a whole. Good work! Several new, interesting characters are floating around, and we got to see another look at some of the Cabal, of whom I am particularly fond.

Ok, so I'm finally getting around to commenting on this even though I finished reading it like, two weeks ago.

Wow, this certainly adds a lot of planeswalkers to the cast! And what a diverse bunch this is... Dantalion is particularly inspiring. Inhuman planeswalkers, I find, are very interesting to write for. It's almost too bad he's one of the most singularly unpleasant creatures I've ever read about.

Almost.

Metal/Kala is probably my favorite character, though Raven has a point about the Tattered King. Kala's backstory is just heartbreakingly relatable. She went to extreme measure to both preserve herself and fit in - I'm impressed with her fortitude, as well as her capacity for goodness even after all the hardships she has been put through.

We'll see if Sorinne can be similarly strong.

Narissa did not do much for me. Pride is an annoying flaw and I never really clicked with her character. Sort of wished that the buff dude had just crushed her - probably would have saved everyone else some trouble. But, she's still out and about, and I'm sure she'll make certain we have not heard the last of her.

Anyway, the story was intriguing, and now, the only question is what goes on from here? I'm sure this isn't the last time we've heard of the Annulus...
