Dantalion the Infester

Planeswalker – Dantalion [R]
[+1]: Put a -1/-1 counter on up to one target creature.
[-3]: Each opponent discards two cards. You gain 2 life for each land card discarded this way.
[0]: Dantalion becomes an aura enchantment with “Enchant creature or planeswalker” and “You control enchanted permanent.” It’s no longer a planeswalker. Attach it to target creature or Planeswalker. You may remove a loyalty counter from Dantalion to end this effect, but only if you haven’t activated a loyalty ability of Dantalion this turn.
[3]

Kala, Maiden of Metal

Planeswalker – Kala [R]

[+1]: Destroy or regenerate up to one target artifact.
[-10]: Gain control of all artifacts.
[6]

Ilyria the Accursed

Planeswalker – Ilyria [R]
[+1]: Ilyria deals 3 damage to target creature or player of your choice and 2 damage to up to one target creature of an opponent’s choice.
[0]: Gain 3 life. If you do, an opponent of your choice may put a +1/+1 counter on a creature he or she controls.
[-4]: Destroy target permanent.
When Ilyria the Accursed enters the battlefield, an opponent puts three 2/2 black nightstalker creature tokens onto the battlefield.
[6]

Narissa Enshar

Planeswalker – Narissa [R]
[+2]: Untap target land
[-2]: Target creature gets -X/-X, where X is equal to the number of basic land types among the land types you control. Its controller loses X life.
[-8]: You get an emblem with “Basic lands you control are all basic land types”
[2]

Crown of Ythol
:2:
Artifact [R]
At the beginning of your upkeep, each other player chooses any number of creatures he or she controls. Creatures that aren’t chosen this way can’t attack you or planeswalkers you control. At the end of each other player’s turn, that player sacrifices each chosen creature he or she controls that didn’t attack you.

The Ythol Annulus
:8:
Legendary Artifact [R]
Indestructible
As an additional cost to cast The Ythol Annulus, exile all permanents you control, exile your hand, exile your graveyard, and pay half your life, rounded up.
As The Ythol Annulus enters the battlefield, if you didn’t cast it, you lose the game.
:0:: Add any amount of mana in any combination of colors to your mana pool.

Castle of the King
Legendary Land [R]
You may choose not to untap Castle of the King during your untap step.
Whenever Castle of the King becomes untapped, tap all other lands. They don’t untap during their controller’s next untap step.
:t:: Add :1: to your mana pool.
To rule the Castle is to forsake all other domains.

Gates of the Netherworld
Land [R]
Creature cards can’t leave graveyards.
Lands have “:t:: Add one mana of any color of a creature card in a graveyard to your mana pool.”

Blind Eternities
:5:
World Enchantment [R]
Whenever a card would be exiled or put into a graveyard from anywhere, remove it from the game instead. (A card that is removed from the game is now outside the game.)
:3:: Exchange target spell or permanent you own and control with a card you own from outside the game that shares a type with it. Any player may activate this ability

Nice job on finishing the set. It'll be a last-minute addition to the 1 May plugin.

Don't worry if YMtC seems rude at times. We are perfectionist artisans with high standards who spend a lot of time debating and arguing with one another. If we comment on your thread, that's because we are interested in your designs and genuinely wish to help you improve - even if some of us are a little more blunt about it.

I'm quite aware. I'm not disheartened by comments on my threads, even negative ones. That's called workshopping. But, in any case, thank you.

I finally got some time to look over the cards, so here are some comments:

Planeswalking Escape is really cool. It has good flavor and interesting Constructed applications.

Ilyria seems really strong. At minimum she's a Vindicate, and ahe has the potential to wreck your opponent in a creature-light deck. I also don't think she feels like Ilyria at all. Maybe she could give your opponent black Nightstalker creature tokens when she entered the battlefield?

Kala might confuse players into thinking they can regenerate planeswalkers to save thrm from combat damage.

Crown of Ythol could stand to cost more. I don't think it's the kind of card that would be fun if pushed to appear in Constructed.

Yeah, I think I'll give her the Nightstalker ETB rather than the current "switch controller on death" drawback. That seems more in keeping. Edit Incoming.

I figure escape rates as "Least Likely to be run for the cycling" of that group.

Kala is a little confusing, but I didn't want her to just be a two-step removal process.

Crown was based on Oracle en-Vec (quirky and easily forgotten) but I suppose it's harder to remove.

(Early on, Annulus cost 5. I figured that might be too easy to abuse with Doomsday running around to fix "Annulus into X burn, I win" scenarios)

Vyntiria, the Horned Goddes
:g: ♀ Elf Planeswalker, Deceased

Vyntiria was a planeswalker before the mending with the basic form of an elf with great horns like the pronged antlers of a stag. Her greatest skill was in Biomancy.

Vyntiria was one of the four planeswalkers responsible for besting Dantalion the first time he tried to forge the Ythol Annulus. She abstained from the decision on his fate.

Vyntiria ascended somewhere in the vicinity of 0-1000 AR (not long before the Conflict Upon Ythol) and remained active until her death of old age in the years after the Mending. In that time, she created many cultic clans dedicated to her worship across the planes. All the Horned Elves of those clans can, at least in some number, claim to be biologically related to Vyntiria, as her general modus operendi was to appear and begin the cycle of worship among a sect of elves, bearing “demigod” children (between one and five hundred during her lifetime) and giving her lovers and disciples horns as the “gift of the Goddess”. Once her clan had enough in the way of numbers, they would withdraw from external society and live as their own culture, and Vyntiria would leave to start the cycle anew.

After the Mending, Vyntiria came to believe that while her death was unavoidable, it would not be final – she would one day be reborn from among her descendants. She spent her last years revisiting her many cults and instructing them on the ways to recognize her next incarnation, effectively laying the groundwork for any female planeswalker born among any such group to be hailed as Vyntiria the Second, the Goddess Reborn.

Bar-Sagrum, Sage of Peace
:w::r::u: ♂ Ogre Planeswalker, Deceased

Bar-Sagrum was a planeswalker before the mending with the basic form of a mighty ogre. He was a monk before his ascension and retained astounding skill in martial arts and spiritual magic.

Bar-Sagrum was one of the four planeswalkers responsible for besting Dantalion the first time he tried to forge the Ythol Annulus. He lead the motion to spare Dantalion.

Bar-Sagrum ascended in unknown ages past. He might have been very old when the conflict on Ythol occurred, or simply very wise. Bar-Sagrum was a martial pacifist – he believed that sometimes it was necessary to fight for what was right in the world, but that it was NEVER right to kill if one possessed the skill to achieve victory nonlethally, and Bar-Sagrum’s skill was second to none. Throughout his lifetime, he sought wisdom and enlightenment through meditation and a unity of mind and body. When the Mending came, Bar-Sagrum was at peace with its change. He had had immeasurable eons to become truly enlightened and felt only acceptance at the facts of his death. Thus, he lay himself down to teach, and attempted to help others gain a better understanding of the Multiverse until he died peacefully and silently in his meditations.
