Oh uh... Surprise?

Didn't expect them to start running a story this early.

Okay, the cameos are getting.... Really egregious here. In the one hand, I want to say I like that they're thrusting together so much, but it's beggared belief that SO many of the characters know each other. It's shattered suspension of disbelief, particularly of all things

Quickly learning to dislike the immigration situation here.

Late to the game, loving Annie Flash. Also, Tarnation was a damn good pun.

Nothing will ever substitute Jakkard, but I'm really digging the rogues gallery.

On the side stories:

- Loved No Tells, loved the first person narration and the trans protagonist was handled well. Though I do have to wonder about the worldbuilding of New Capenna, since jails are mentioned when it's essentially a crime-lord paradise

- Blood is Thicker Than Venom is good Annie Flash lore. Feel a bit sorry for her, seeing herself as a weapon foremost.

This was by far the best story they've released this year. It's about the only one I actually have enjoyed, though it does leave a big Jakkard shaped ache any time I look at the thing.

They've said there is an actual government (Civil Servant) and all, they're just mostly in the pocket of the gangs like Corrupt Court Official. So I imagine the people jailed are those who do stuff so egregious that they couldn't be kept out of jail and people who aren't in the gangs, like Yuma's old gang since they left the Riveteers.

Gisa and Geralf are hilariously petty as always

Yeah, don't care about the rat, I'm more surprised Obeka is actually getting to be a character!

Also, really feeling strongly about the omenpaths by now.

I can't help but feel like there's some kind of character assassination of Vraska. She should've supported Kellan and Annie instead of just being one of the outlaws cackling at Kellan's compassion

I just think this is overall a pretty poor story for a number of reasons.
It isn't that I think it's badly written for the prose or anything, but the entire direction is bad.
