They've gotten impressively better with these since the days of There's.
That said, it still hurts a surprising amount to see Ajani reduced to this. It was bad enough with Tamiyo, but Ajani is worse.

Still doesn't make me righteously angry, it just makes me... Sad and tired.

I hope they don't turn him back, though.

From an animation standpoint: big step up, nicely done!

From a Vorthos standpoint: huh?

This has nothing to do with either the Dominaria United story ór the Brothers' War story.

It's a really weird and awkward little vignet that doesn't fit in anywhere. It's ostensibly a trailer for The Brothers' War, but apart from featuring Teferi, it has absolutely nothing to do with that set.

What's worse is that they could have done a cool animation of the final battle and the sylex blast with Teferi watching. Such a missed opportunity.

That is a LOT of set pieces your asking them to produce. It really isn't that viable to do on what they likely had as a budget.
You'll note they effectively reused the background and model for Ajani from the previous trailer.
