This unfortunately does not clear up whether maybe Parnesse, the Subtle Brush and Errant, Street Artist were mixed up in the story. |

No Kros, no Mr Orfeo, no Toluz, no Errant, most bios give next to no info on the characters; the bios of the bosses say pretty much nothing at all. Worse still, almost every bio is written in 'mobster slang' English. This article combined with the sub par story and serious lack of story/card coherence makes this set really bad vorthos-wise in my opinion. It constantly feels to me like a really shallow rip-off of Ravnica. |

Yep. I mean...what's the point if they've got no background? Why are the Beamtown Bullies renowned? What makes Syrix a legendary phoenix opposed to an ordinary phoenix? Everything about the creative execution of this set feels no effort was put into it at all. 'Just throw in some tropes and be done with it'. I mean, i have no love for tech-kamigawa, but that set's flavor was at least handled very well. I sincerely hope that they've put more effort into Dominaria United and Borthers' War! |
