Preferred Pronoun Set: He/Him
So since switching to the blockless system and heavily favoring one set per plane we have burned through a number of ideas that have been requested and wanted by magic players for awhile. My question is what is left out there/ what would be some ideas planes you would like to see?

Some ideas from Maro's blog I have thoughts on;

Meso-American World- While Ixalan is Meso-america during the start of being colonized, there is room for more modern inspired setting (such as Coco) as well as maybe a pre-colonized Meso-American world that has more of the real world mythology mixed in. Maybe a

Murder Mystery/Noir World- Of note they talked on not having a huge amount of noir in New Capenna since they felt they could use it for a Noir world.

Prehistoric World- What Muraganda seems to be setting up as.

Roman World- When making Theros they noted that the aesthetics of Roman could be used still (the empire, the legion, coliseums ect), though likely as the setting than being top down designed. Kylem could be expanded out into this.

Redwall-inspred world- Recently saw on tumblr, I'm guessing a world with non-humanoids animal folks and likely no humans.

Wild West-Inspired World- I don't like westerns but weird west/ fanatic west is a thing and I think it just depend on how they execute it as I seen a few fan sets that have had some good ideas or thought about how to go about it.

Not on the FAQ but some other idea:

West African World- as being vaguely hinted at as a possible birth plane of Aminatou

Polynesian- Moana and Pokemon Sun/Moon showed that fanatical Polynesian could be a good setting, maybe mixed in with water world as the setting would be an island or series of island and feature a lot of ocean.

American Folk world- Stuff like Paul Bunyan and other north american folk stories post colonization. Maybe could be mixed with Wild West.

Oko's homeplane- We got a lil bit of info as a plane ruled by Fey who suppress their mischievousness

Vryn/Tolvada/ Gobakhan/ Regatha/ Plane of Mountains and Seas- Known planes most of which are birth or home planes of known walkers that we seen some of and might get expand on with Plane of Mountains and Seas being the one I most like to see.

My concepts of Matahouroa, Aqalax and Glirodisea fit the Polynesian, Native American and Redwall notions amusingly enough.

I hope the madlads do a Guanche setting.

Some ideas I had for my fic-Planes:

- Azoria/Planes of the Mountains and Seas: The world would be divided into 2 parts: Azoria would be similar to what we saw in the movie Moana, with few people and being nomads from island to island. In this world, aquatic beings such as merfolk and flyers would have more advantage (Azor would be the guardian of this world, even more so as a flying creature). Connected to it would be the second part, which would be based on the movie "Big Fish and Begonia": With the destruction of the islands of Azoria, the spirit world begins to emerge from within the plane, taking over almost the entire plane (this would be the Plane that known today as the Plane of the Mountains and Seas). The story would revolve around Jiang Yanggu and Mu Yanling discovering the real past of the plane.

- A world based on Brazilian folklore: Brazil has a rich culture based on very interesting legends and myths, but little explored commercially, even more outside the country. Around here we have creatures like Capelobos (creatures that look like humanoid anteaters, which in this world could be Gremlins, like those of Kaladesh, only more intelligent and humanoid), the indigenous people could be elves. We have giant fire snakes, wurms that hide below of churches, freshwater mermaids and crocodiles that carry the world tree on their backs, among many other very interesting creatures.

- An Underground World: It would be like dwarves and dark elves living in a world full of glowing mushrooms, strange fairies and Knockers. In my idea, all the evil that inhabited the depths escaped to the surface, and the inhabitants of the surface had to take refuge underground. The focus of this plane would be to see the conflicts that the people of the surface would have to live with the people of the underground, while the evil that is on the surface prevails to dominate the underground refuges.

- I also had some ideas to visit planes like Cridhe, Azgol, Moag (this one I feel Wizards missed the chance to bring us nostalgia if it was Nova Capenna in the past, as it combines Phyrexian invasion with something more medieval or religious, as shown Urza and Xantcha's visit) and Pyrulea, and I also created a plan that would be a giant market that planeswalkers could access, rest from their travels and train (this idea came more for online games, so that the markets for these games would become more interesting).

- Oh, it would also be very interesting to have a plane based on Philippine folklore (I got really interested after watching the anime "Trese", and I think that Azgol could be that plane), and also a plane based on African myths (I remember having I read about 2 books on the subject when I was in school, and I really liked it).

I had some ideas for planes/sets that would probably not get used for one reason or another.

A long time ago, <Overarching Villain> betrayed three former allies and imprisoned them on different planes. <Heroes> seek out these planes to find out why <OV> would imprison these folk (and also why <OV> didn't just kill them).

Plane 1: Iquatana - the Psychedelic water world. The mana here is trippy and overexposure over an extended period can cause severe addiction with harsh withdrawal symptoms. This addiction was the means by which <OV> trapped the PW here. Four major races are Cephalid (WuB), Homarid (GuR), Merfolk (GWu) and Surrakar (uBR, sometimes I switch them out with Amphin Salamanders). Yeah, I end up putting a few flyers with "~ can only block creatures with flying." Mechanically, I had the set as a hybrid set with adamant and sunburst as returning mechanics.

Plane 2: "Puzzle world" - A long time ago, a long lost planeswalker set up plane to be a mental prison world for the worst of the worst offenders who couldn't be easily contained on their home planes. The plane self regulates through a clockwork like perpetual machine with no intelligent oversight. Minds are tethered through an interplanar connection to essentially a meat puppet, leaving the true body in a bit of a comatose state on the home plane. When that puppet is destroyed, the mental link is captured by the central machine and automatically tethered to a newly produced puppet. To prevent prisoner "escape," the plane is designed to be overly mentally taxing with an aesthetic mix of Escher, Wonderland, and a sanitized version of the Saw movies. Imagine all food grows in a shifting hedge maze, and the fruit from the tree in the middle has a Rubik's cube like peel (only the puzzle is different for each fruit). The method to release people is written somewhere on the plane itself despite the rest of the multiverse forgetting all about it, but the ritual would need to happen on the prisoners' real bodies on their home planes. If a planeswalker dies on the plane, they will get trapped in the plane's puppet cycle in a body that most likely doesn't have a spark. Initial thought was Suspend as a returning mechanic, but the was the "set" I worked on least mechanically.

Plane 3: "Empty Post Apocalyptic" The world had once been under a Phyrexian invasion. In desperation, the people of the plane decided to blow up the plane, protecting themselves by going into stasis machine meant to counteract Phyrexian infection. The plan worked, but the stasis machines were programmed to reinforce the idea that you need to counter the infection. So when the people woke up out of stasis, there was a lingering fear of infection. Eventually, the paranoia grew and the new social groups fell apart. They ended up sticking everyone back into stasis. The cycle would repeat, but grow faster and faster in between cycles. Now anyone almost immediately goes straight back into stasis. This has left the world to overgrow the ruins with no sapient species left to push back. However, the documents describing the Phyrexian threat still return, leaving an unsettling feeling in the air. The set would be an extremely low creature count, but a high amount of "spell morph" to fill out the needs for creatures (The flavor these "spell morphs" would be false alert jump scares, like a creaking door.).

In terms of an Americana set, there's actually a couple of states that might actually have enough to them that they could hold up a world on their own. The main ones that come to mind are New York, California and Alabama. Unfortunately, there's a lot of states that wouldn't have the full extent of required geography, but these are a few of the ones that do.

California speaks for itself, but when thinking about New York, people tend to focus on NYC, but the upstate also has a lot going on as well. It has natural beauty in the Adirondacks, Catskills, Hudson Valley and Niagara Falls that's a bit underrated.

Alabama tends to get pigeon holed into a very particular part of history, but it probably has one of the largest varied swaths of American history of any state. It's important for proto-Indians; the conquistador era (the start of the downfall of the de Soto expedition); French, British and Spanish colonial claims-War of 1812; the Trail of Tears; the Civil War (This map being a particular reason to point out Alabama. Even then, the map isn't giving the full extent of the divide as there were some delegates who changed votes at the end for political positioning purposes. paper); Reconstruction; Civil Rights Era; the Space Race, etc. It's just a state that has weird layers of intersecting history beats all over the place, (plus random stuff you might not expect, like Helen Keller, underwater forests or weather events like Mobile Bay jubilees).

In terms of other places for inspiration, I hate how people tend to lump the Inca in with the Aztecs when the architecture and clothing are quite noticeably different. Plus, I'd like to see a quipu writing system in a setting.

Another one I'd like to see for architecture reasons (though, there's a lot more to it than just that) is the Aksumite Empire/Ethiopia.

A Brazillian world is also something that crossed my mind, albeit focused more on the pre-colonial aspects, based on the cities of the Xingu and Marajoara.
