Literally didn’t know this existed until a few short weeks ago. Not particularly word heavy, this little book is full of mostly art and quotes featuring the Gatewatch. It doesn’t go heavily into the lore (and Ajani fans will find that a lot of his art, especially stuff from Theros, is WOEFULLY left out), but if you want a nice collection of artwork this is a pretty nice book. A lot of WAR artwork isn’t featured inside, however, (which is a damn shame, because I would have liked to see the planeswalker art/Japanese alternate art featured inside) and it’s ultimately vague about how that arc ends, especially leaving out the fate of a certain beefy hieromancer. That all being said, it’s a nice piece of MtG memorabilia and I for one am definitely going to be using it as an art resource to reference character design from.
