Reportedly, his name is based on a german word for the devil, but I can't seem to find any official sources. Help? |

As a German German from Germany, I can assure you there is no such German word... The only connection I can think of is 'Old Nick' being an English nickname for the devil. |

Doesn't sound right to me either. The best connection I can think of would be Latin Diabolus. |

Diabolos is sort of close, albeit not German. I guess that is what Otu said. |

Nicol Bolas was designed to be the quintessential    character, so logically, he was designed to be as anti-  as possible. What does care about? Community, protection, fauna, and flora, of course. They do favors for flowers and keep their animals close to home.And that is what Nicol Bolas's name is an anagram for both Lilac Boons and Local Bison.
