Okay, so hear me out. During Innistrad classic, creative described the design process of Innistrad's werewolves appearance. One of the things they pictured was really warped looking monstrosities a la the John Carpenter's 1982 classic "The Thing!)".
They ultimately decided to go for something more traditional for their first "real" attempt at werewolves, but now that we're back on Innistrad, and Emrakul and her mutating presence are all but confirmed to be the source of the current weirdness on Innistrad, I strongly suspect Emrakul's mutations will be a prominent aspect of Eldritch Moon's DFCs.
Now, this is what kills me. I distinctly remember this happening in, I want to say one of those video interviews about the design of Innistrad, but I can't for the LIFE of me find the damn thing.

Basically, imagine Scourge Wolf, but more so.

As a rebuttal, I'll say that we shouldn't expect anything different from the werewolves. From a narrative perspective, they're setting up Arlin and her pack as the new defenders in Avacyn's absence. Now, there's certainly room for twisted werewolves, but that would very strongly muddy the waters.

You should also mark this as speculation to avoid confusing the topic.

Let's have the best of both worlds.

Thing-styled werewolves whose innate viciousness is warped by Emrakul to the point that they start defending humanity.

I look forward to them wrecking what is probably their most popular plane of all time, and also the one that seemed to get a lot of new people interested in the game. Bring on the eldrazi.

You know that's not going to happen. Most likely they are either going to kill off Emrakul so that all three titans are dead, or they are going to seal her away in the moon, making it an eternal prison for an eldrtich horror from beyond the stars, forever giving their horror themed plane a little bit of weirdness that the werewolves will hunt out constantly.

I doubt they're going to compleatily destroy the plane, but I think it was smart to use this plane for emrakul. It fits the genre

The thing about the moon acting as a big Helvault was kind of foreshadowed in last week's UR, too, and I think that's what's going to happen.

Nahiri can drop an artifact. Emrakul didn't come out of an artifact. So we may get an artifact that exiles Emrakul or something that ties into the moon.

I think it will be Sorin using the moon. Hopefully he gets Nahiri and Emrakul in one shot and she can play around in there with her new toy forever.

There are already plenty of The Thing visual references, though...
