We probably all have them: specific 'blanks' in the storyline that we would like to see filled and read more about. Imagine for a moment that realistic business constraints didn't apply and you could choose which parts of the storyline you'd like to see expanded on (in novels, short stories comics, whatever). Which parts would that be?
For me, that would be pretty much everything connected to Jeff Grubb's
Ice Age trilogy. For starters, there would be enough room for two or three more novels between
The Gathering Dark and
The Eternal Ice. I'd love to read more about Jodah's time in the
City of Shadows and what made him move the School to Lat-Nam eventually, or about how Jodah realised he doesn't age anymore and how he reacted, or about the people who apparently set out to find the
Fountain of Youth and what happened to them, or what Lord Ith was up to (did he ever meet Jodah again?) or Tivadar's goblin crusade, or Freyalises post-revisionist ascension and how Jodah helped her to not go insane, or Jodah's first meeting with Jaya Ballard, or the cities and nations of the Ice Age emerging etc. There should also really be a
Coldsnap novel and more stories about Jaya as a planeswalker, especially about her showing up on Regatha and about her death (because one does not simply kill Jaya Ballard off-screen. There should be a Boromir-meme about that). Also, Leshrac and Lim-Dûl's war on Shandalar, or basically a post-revisionist novelisation of the Shandalar comics and the computer game.
Other stuff I'd be interested in includes
- the sequel to the Kamigawa trilogy that Scott McGough had plans for
- two or three novels about the ancient history of Ravnica (Oldwalker battles, creatures being stranded, urbanisation, civil war, the Guilds being founded etc.)
- the planeswalker war in Corondor
- the planeswalker war on Ulgrotha (may or may not have loose connections to the two things mentioned before)
- at least one
Homelands novel
