While looking into the idea of a half-elf character, I did have to stop and think: "How were all the canonical half-elf characters handled throughout the storyline(s)?" I wonder in what way that racial detail was introduced. I can guess differing possibilities, such as straightaway referring to them as a half-elf as if that is their race (they are more "half-elf" than they are "half-human-half-elf") from the get go. Showing or telling their half-breed qualities, discussing the character's actual parentage, etc. Does anyone know how it's handled in canon, or have advice on revealing a character to be a half-breed.

The only half elf we've ever seen that I can think of is Radha, and her parentage was very important.

But it want important to her character at all before she wasa walker and obsessed over elves.

In a nutshell, what was Radha's situation where being a half-breed came into play?

She was basically a character whose defining traits were that she felt out of place among the elves and wasn't accepted among the Keldons because of her weak elfishness. not being accepted made her push harder to rebel and eventually show that even a half-breed could harness the powers of the Keldons and become a warlord.

There's also Fonn Zunich, Jarad's (ex-)wife from the original Ravnica trilogy. Her father was a Wojek officer and her mum a Silhana elf. She also had a son with Jarad, Myczil Savod-Zunich, who was thus basically 1/4 human and 3/4 elf. I was kind of disappointed we never heard anything from him again in RtR...
Kaysa might have been a half-elf as well but I'm not quite sure about her...

So she's a young adult movie.

What I'm going for is a Zendikari half-elf whose parents met during an adventuring party. I know it's cliché for "My powers are a version of both my parents' abilities combined" but my current concept is her father was a shieldmate with some aura magic and her mother was probably a Tajuru elf, and for her to eventually have Totem Armor as her main skillset. While I want her to have a connection to nature and animals from her mother, I also want to break a mold by her being raised by her darker-skinned father (like Echo Mage ) and thus be a dark-skinned humanoid with elf ears. It's understandable that because the elves live beneath the coverage of trees, they have very light complexions (I recall Nissa getting sunburned rather easily in her origins story)

Just don't know how to make a semi-big deal about her being a mixed-breed and that pushing her to her early decisions. Perhaps is told her mother was an elf, and she disobediently goes to connect with that part of her heritage and falls in with Mul Daya elves by mistake.
