Made something fun. Figured since M:EM reblogged it and Maro retweeted it from Kelly Digges, the article might deserve a share here as well.
Zendikar: The Full Story
Also, the timeline included:

Thanks for posting! This is quite helpful in disentangling the messy retcons and figuring out what's actually supposed to have happened pre-BfZ, at least roughly. It still places Khalni Heart on the wrong continent, though.

So, that is part of a complicated thing. This is an excerpt from the Art of MTG: Zendikar book, as passed out in a pamphlet at PAX Prime, thankfully got photos from a friend. What seemed to have happened was the caretakers of Ora Ondar attempted to move it to Bala Ged, hence why the Uncharted Realms story takes place there instead of on Akoum.

I mean, just because they claim something happened off screen doesn't make it less of a retcon when it's still months away from being officially revealed and months after it was relevant.

Aside from that, I'm a little unsure of how we should mature those two years between the blocks, because ethers a period of six months before the titans were freed, and that's not an inconsiderable amount of time. It's nothing exactly wrong with the way you've done the time line since it's a valid way to read the statement, but it raises questions to their intent.

I definitely understand your point. There seems to be no current reasoning that would stop that story from taking place in an Eldrazified territory of Akoum, especially considering In the Teeth of Akoum giving it a pretty close proximity to where the titans were released.

I threw it all under two years as an umbrella because it gives an estimate, not many people need to know the exact time passage, and also because going from 6,000 to 2 was already weird enough for me. Probably will go into finer detail with future ones for the sake of getting the specifics out there though.

Well, it's just something to take into consideration considering the already larger story involved with the dragon scroll leading up to Zendikar. That really requires some examination of Jace's past covered in AoA and chandra's own travels.

And as an aside, I bloody hate this phone's autocorrect feature. Typos just undermine credibility so badly and it's much harder to keep track of them on a phone.

True, true. On a related note, I know some people are asking for a full "modern" timeline, organizing every story set Post-Mending, and it's definitely something that is on the table because it does give context to everything. But at the same time, there are still looming questions of Test of Metal and Agents of Artifice that are kept quiet and do hinder what we know. As the cherry on top, people are looking at and (usually) enjoying my GM work, so I do have to make best efforts to avoid stating anything that could create confusion.

No worries about typos. Sometimes they do good, like when you misspell Heliud and then never fully address the matter ;)

There's no question Test of Metal is the black sheep. They've done a lot to bury what it had to say and retcon what they still needed afterwards. Agents has a lot fewer issues and they're really treating that as still canon, unlike Test.

Then again, I'm biased because I actually had to interact with Stover, who conducted himself like a massive tool.

If you want help, just shoot me a line since I curated the post mending time line before curse bought salvation.

Yes please can we get a timeline comparable to what Squirle has put together for the pre-Mending stuff :P We desperately need a breakdown of how everything is being placed, according to what sources, &c.

Ugh Stover ugh.

If they really moved Khalni Heart to another place, that's definitely a story they should have told. They could have explained more thoroughly how the damn thing even works while they were at it.

We literally didn't even get the story of how Jace decided to roll back his character development and take control of the Infinite Consortium so... I'm not shocked.

Nor the sort of how he decided that was too much work and quit again.

(I really really had to resist making a Dr. Strangelove joke there.)

If anyone can explain how they see this for me, I'm eager to listen. Between AoA and Secretist and the UR story Catching Up, I'm interested in what you all think is the latest state of the Consortium and why.

As of the Secretist it was effectively dissolved but I have no idea if that's been hit by the retcon stick too.

Independent cells may still be active and Bolas might have snatched a few, but the ravnica cell is very much dead.

According to Brady, Jace only stepped in because he literally didn't know what else to do with himself and the remaining agents basically came to him since he was the last higher ranked member. So Jace more or less did it out of boredom until he folded under the pressure.

Sounds like the character. I imagine that if he had a choice he would have bailed on Ravnica too.

Well yeah given that his entire character arc in AoA involved realizing that the path towards Tezzeret-style power mad demagoguery was something he emphatically wanted to avoid yes I'd say it's probable that he would've bailed on Ravnica too if the writers had let him he could have

This timeline made me appreciate how well the planeswalkers silhouettes work.

I know people don't like spike haired Jace but I love that particular card art. It's super stylish.

I really dislike Jim Murray's anatomy.
He does fantastic work in color theory, but lords, bodies don't work that way ...
