Yeah, I wasn't to say it was deckhopper that did it, but I also want to say that it was very loose with canon and was pretty incompatible with things that actually happened or how characters acted.

Well, skimming over it, I think it hit some of the main points. The last bit I have has Gerralf and Liliana together when she zombifies Mikaeus. Various other flavor text characters make an appearance, and Norin the Wary features heavily in the story parts with Sorin.

"Norin and Sorin" sound like a great Innistrad vaudeville act.

Norin being on Innistrad alone makes it non canon.

I'm pretty confident I didn't read it, or certainly the whole thing (sorry, Deckhopper (if it was you)), but was it actually Norin the Wary? For some reason, I just thought it was a different character named Norin.

It may have been. When I see the name "Norin" I sorta jump to conclusions.

Can't say as I blame you. And I could certainly be wrong. We need Deckhopper back in here to let us know.

Hey guys......things are getting weird on Innistrad.....>_>

There's a really funky description for the art book now:

Quote:
Grab an axe and defend the gate! Your despair is an extravagance we can ill afford. Thalia, Knight-Cathar Terror falls from the skies on blood-spattered wings, and nameless horrors lurk in the shadows. These pages, lavishly illustrated with the award-winning art of"Magic: The Gathering," are your entry into a world beset by terrible evils on all sides and betrayed by the hope it held most dear. Tread lightly as you follow the heroic Planeswalkers of the Vanguard as they investigate these dark mysteries, for the nightmare they will uncover is a threat to the whole Multiverse. The mysteries of Innistrad its peoples, provinces, and monsters await your arrival. But be careful as you peer into the darkness, for you might find"something"staring back."

Thalia, Knight-Cathar Terror.......Planeswalkers of the Vanguard...... :ookay:

Well, Vanguard is a helluva lot better name than "gatewatch"

Well, too bad that the name Gatewatch is already mentioned on actual cards now and they can't change it anymore. I wouldn't put it beyond Creative to just retcon it right after the block it was introduced, though :smirk:. On a more serious note, I guess that description is probably some outdated draft that got changed since then. We've already seen contradicting statements as to whether the whole Gatewatch is going to be there or only Jace.

The thing about Thalia (and possibly Avacyn) is... interesting, though. :ookay:

Looks like a formatting error to me. Like there was supposed to be an image of Thalia, but we got her name shoved at the beginning of a sentence instead. It just doesn't really make sense otherwise.

The Planeswalkers of the Vanguard thing is definitely weird, though.

Vanguard was more than likely a placeholder name for Gatewatch that got changed later on.
