You people are so funny. Couldn't even abstain from an appeal to "muh majority" in a petition that it doesn't pertain to.
I particularly like the list of verifiable fact that the creator did not seem to bother giving citations, bringing to question how verifiable they truly are. It probably starts with the best one, notably "one authority figure made an unsubstantiated and ambiguous claim."

do you think it is a verifiable fact that the troops he insulted were in fact hard working and experienced

do you think it is a verifiable fact that the nation's intelligence officers are brave and that they serve in secret and with faith and honor and that they are 300 year old immortal vampires and that they are quiet

this piece was using a pretty passive voice until now but wow the author seems to be getting really heated up

Probably assumed they were common knowledge, given how Trump tweets about them.

Then again, some cultists were sincerely unaware of the EPA censoring, so who knows. "Alternative facts" is all too convenient a rhetoric.

I should probably also mention that popular vote is relevant in democracies. As Trump's approval rates continue to plummet, it's outright delusional to not have them into account.

Given that their vested interests with russian sovereignty have been outright confessed...

It's funny how people who basically worship the military turn coat as soon as there is friction with Trump.

To put it mildly, yes, considering Trump's issues have been with vast branches of both.

I remember hearing that there was a Conan the Barbarian graphic novel based on the original script for either the second or third Conan movie (originals with Arnie). Anyone here happen to know that gn's title?

After your declaration regarding the use of martial arts to murder Sargon of Akkad, you calling anyone an edgelord will never be anything but hilarious.

I don't subscribe to what cultists regard as common knowledge.

It still doesn't relate to the subject of the petition. His approval ratings are irrelevant to whether or not he's guilty of the claim.
I mean, it's irrelevant regardless. The system was explicitly designed this way, it's not a mistake that someone with more votes lost. Feel free to advocate for changing it for the next vote, but trying to retcon it now is, what word did you use? That's right. Petty.

Even Trump has voiced his dissatisfaction with the electoral college. When even the people benefitting from it disagree, you know you're in trouble.

Also, overthrowing tyranny is "petty" now.

are you referring to myself or to the people who wrote this article when you say "people who worship the military"?

I don't think its proper to say it is a fact that someone is "brave" or that they serve with "faith and honor", especially when you're not analyzing an individual person, and even then, that's more the domain of literature than politics or law. There's nothing wrong with what they said though. I just found the transition from a very matter of fact statement of the information to a more emotionally-oriented argument slightly jarring and thus amusing.

Why would that not surprise you, out of curiosity?

It seemed absurd to me, and I did some light reading, and it still seems like its not remotely feasible to actually destroy the planet with our current level of explosive power. It probably depends on what you mean by literally destroy the planet though. I wouldn't be surprised if a worst case scenario could wipe out the majority of macroscopic life and render much of the world uninhabitable to most life for hundreds of thousands or even millions of years.

Funny or not, even russian politicians admit it to be the case. And now there's just enough evidence to make a case for impeachment.

In principle, this would be fair enough. In practise, however, you were defending massive delegitimizations, making this statement... incoherent.

Again and again even test nuclear strikes have caused massive environmental damage. Hesitance over using nuclear weapons is beyond justified.

I also would like to know why you think "world" = planet. "World" can also = civilization in many contexts, like this one.

Part of me can't help but think this is some petty semantics-based evasion tactic.

Does Magic: the Gathering not exist in your world view? If so, I'm impressed with your blog.

I mocked the insistence in which it is brought up, yes. Although I am also demeaning the votes argument in the very same post you are quoting, so I don't know how you can even make the assertion that I'm backpedaling, even with your mental gymnastics.

Who is "you" in this case? Am I in trouble? I haven't claimed to be in favor of it. That's entirely separate from advocating a retcon of it because it worked exactly as intended, because it didn't favor you.
Also, overthrowing tyranny is "petty" now.

I do consider myself rather petty, but not on that particular front.

Enlighten me. I'm genuinely curious. Debates that aren't interested in being conversations fade pretty quickly from my mind.

Though, it is fortunate you mention this. Diversion from the topic is always welcome on your part.

In your own words, it was "irrelevant". Either it is relevant to the point that you feel like mentioning it, or it isn't. Even your delusions aren't grounds for hypocrisy.

You are in trouble because you are failing to reason. And because you're unwittingly creating your own demise, though as far as I am concerned that's less "trouble" and more "karma".

Yeah in retrospect i probably just misunderstood the meaning of the word "World" in this context. It wasn't intentional. Nuclear war is obviously a pretty scary thing and how to handle preventing it is a perfectly legitimate discussion.

Hello, Art, Flavor and Storyline fans.

I know I don't say much around here, and that is because for the most part, I don't have to. And I love that, because it means that this community is very good about being civil and respectful to one another. But I have been watching, and over the last page or so, things have started to get salty, and a bit too personal. So I'm stopping in just to remind everyone to stay respectful. You are all entitled to your opinions and beliefs, and entitled to post and share them. But in doing so, it is important that you remain respectful. Please do not attack one another personally, please do not be insulting to other points of view, and please be sure that if you choose to respond to someone else's arguments, that you respond to the argument itself, and not the person who posted it.

Remember that both flaming and baiting are violations of NGA's Code of Conduct, and while I prefer to stay hands-off as much as possible, such behavior will result in warnings and, if it continues, bannings. You folks are a great group, and I would very much like it to remain that way.

Thanks,

GobO_Gadget
