Well, the Soratami have always been very scholarly, but the Orochi wizard is certainly in line with the way people on Kamigawa use mana and 'proper' magic now instead of relying on kanji and prayers. That gives me hope that someone in Creative still remembers and cares about the ending of the novel trilogy. Well, that and the portrayal of the kami in AoA.

I want to know what happened to Ixidor.

He's not dead. I want to believe...

The person I headcanon as still being alive is Hazezon Tamar. In my head, he ascended and became a planeswalker. The end of that novel is ambiguous enough to allow for that, I feel.

Not checking one of the best novel sets they commissioned would be sad in many ways.

Let's face it, they do have a track record. Like, Magic Origins and pretty much all return-blocks that aren't Innistrad (maybe).

Kaseto, Orochi Archmage. Because Commander does cool things like that these days.

I want to hear about Geralf and Ludevic's collaboration. Seagraf Skaab and Prized Amalgam make it pretty clear that they're planning something. Masterpiece though it is, I don't think Geralf's Masterpiece is that collaboration.

The Time Spiral trilogy mentions she's dead, and it's pretty unlikely that she would still be alive after the Mending anyway (it's been a while, and it was established that the 'walkers' age caught up with them at an accelerated rate after the Mending). But yes, I would have loved to read more about her and it's a shame they just killed her off-screen. I could imagine that it was Jeff Grubb's own idea to make her a planeswalker and that the Invasion stuff was already planned out at that time so there was no room to include Jaya anymore, and as planeswalkers weren't really present in the cardgame before Lorwyn, they never really found the time and place for her to show up again. That's just speculation, though.

Might Teferi and Jhoira still be alive by slow time water, or did the mending fix that too, making them presumably dead?

Teferi was never confirmed to have used slow time water, but I guess it's likely that he did at a later point. Jhoira (and Jodah) should definitely be fine, the Mending only affected planeswalkers. They'd better not do Return to Dominaria without any of these three characters...

Edit: There was even a weird filler-story in Uncharted Realms a few years ago that featured Jhoira in post-Mending Dominaria. I can't remember what it was called and it's probably buried and inaccessible, though.

Since I'm using them as antagonists in my current d&d campaign I'd like to know what happened with the order of heluid. I'd like to think it started with an oldwalker from Theros and at that time Heliod was known as Heluid.

I think they are saving Jaya for a story where Chandra goes to hint her down for some special fire magic.

It actually started on Regatha and is named after a man called Heliud who became a religious figure after passing through the Purifying Fire and surviving. Chandra destroyed their HQ, but they are probably still around somewhere. Would be nice to see them again and learn more about their interplanar nature etc., but I don't really trust Creative with anything related to The Purifying Fire anymore.

I hope not. They'd need very good explanations for a) why people in Time Spiral thought she was dead, b) how she survived the Mending, and c) why the hell we had to put up with Chandra all those years when we could have had Jaya instead.

My guesses
a) Alternate reality Jodah! b) *Mutters something and points out how Venser hadn't aged, ignoring Liliana's entire arc* c) Because Jaya is Crazy Badass Granny Jaya. Oh, she's still a stupidly powerful pyromancer but she'd rather be chilling out wherever she is and leave transplanar adventure to the young.

I thought that was only one outpost.

Obviously I should go back and read purifying fire. Coincidentally it is the only planeswalker novel I haven't read at least twice.

Like I think they will have some sort of quest for jaya that ends going to her tomb or something on some plane, where she went supernova to kill some giant beast.

And then Jace will go back in time to prevent her from dying, instead putting her in some sort of stasis for thousands of years so that in the new present, Jaya and Chandra can geek out over dragonspyromancy!

a) No! Bad! In all seriousness, Jodah has been my #1 favourite character in Magic since I finally caught up with the Ice Age trilogy at the end of last year. I will tear a festering hole into the fabric of the universe if the guy in Time Spiral is anything but the real Jodah. I want him to come back. So badly. b) Yoga? c) Jaya was secretly Mother Luti all along!

Edit: A quest for Jaya's tomb or something like that would be amazing.
