There's an Anubis-like dog-head motif in the revealed architecture though, which could imply that it is the god.

Giving the fact that Bolas is not fond of either or I doubt this plane has any creatures.

P.S. Here's an odd thought: It seems to me as though do to the ways in which a spark ignites many planeswalkers, old and new, seem to be disillusioned or have a different thought process and not in the good kind of way. Many remind me of the villain in the new game For HonorTM

Grixis was part of the Alara set. All colours were balanced, just seperated.

Maro said that tilting the scales to over in Invasion was a horrific mistake. Why would Creative want to repeat that?

There were less cards and less cards, while got more and better ones. The situation reversed in the final set of the block, if I recall correctly.

Maro listed this as a flaw, and since then imbalance among the colours is unintentional. Making an entire set with few cards within a colour would be financial suicide.

Reminds me of Torment --> Judgment from Odyssey Block.

That crocodile dragon is a bit of an odd stylistic choice, unless it lives in the water...

That was odyssey block (Odyssesy > Torment ( :b: set) > Judgment ( :w::g: set). Invasion was the first block with a proper multicolor theme and went Allied > Allied > Enemy including both pairs and triads throughout.

So, we have some pretty big visual spoilers.

For instance, we have the basic land arts, which suck. They pretty much obliterate the idea that Amonkhet is an "egyptian world" over being a "Bolas world". Seriously, they're basically a generic plaza-plains, a waterfall, a garden, some red spires and a decidely un-egyptian swamp with Bolas horns.

There's also Gideon and Liliana.

But, there's also this:

Assuming these are the gods, I was spot on for the , and gods, while the god is based on Sobek and the one on Wadjet (which is kind of cheeky- "Wadjet" means "the green one")

I thought the lands were a really big let down as well. I get that this is Bolas's world but the horns everywhere was kind of "ugh" for me. There should be some space somewhere that has some trees where he hasn't had a chance to erect giant horns.

I really like the design of the gods so far though. The designs don't feel all that close to Theros's gods, which I was kind of afraid of.

But what the :censored: is up with that Gideon art!? He looks very blocky in the two art pieces and in the non-card art his face looks... old and kind of like the creepy, evil adviser from a children's story.

The Bolas Horns are not everywhere. They are specifically in one place and are large enough to be seen from five distinct places that are depicted on the five full-art lands.

There will be other non-full art lands in this set as well and probably won't feature the Bolas Horns as strongly, if at all.

It's odd to me that in all five pictures, the sun is just to the left of the horns, suggesting that we're looking at the horns from pretty much exactly the same direction in all five lands. They vary the relative size of the horns to indicate distance, of course, but does that mean the different land types spread out in a straight line from the horns in the apparent order of plains, forest, mountain, swamp, island?

Though I will say that the floating obelisks are kind of cool, if unnecessary.

Since this is an artificial plane I think its not unreasonable to have the lands aligned with Bolas' Horns so that everyone everywhere csn be reminded of the great All seeing sun god.

The lands are pretty generic but pretty.

Variations on the shape could imply that its actually many independent sets of horns

I'm pretty sure that's just a side effect of having five different artists for the land cycle. The central mythology of Amunkhet is supposed to be that something cool (disastrous?) is due to happen when the small sun aligns properly with the horns like the Gem of Becoming. That would necessitate only one pair of Bolas Horns or else you'd have something happening when the mini-sun aligned with each statue across five landscapes at presumably different times.

Others beat me to it - I mostly assumed there were multiple different horn statues because they had multiple designs and I felt it was unlikely we were looking at the same horn statue because the lands would have to be in a straight line. I guess I'm just really curious to know more about the plane beyond "Bolas owns it."

Edit: I was just thinking, there could be one big central horns somewhere that the sun aligns with thing refers to and these are sort of like shrines or something similar that are smaller and unrelated to any prophecy.

It's because they've set out to make him look very ethnic, which has been fairly disastrous in all his art for ages.
They need to stop or just give it all to Michael Komarck

Also, DAMMIT Nissa. (good art, but she's a blight)
