I finally managed to pin down why I absolutely hate the new look of this set. It isn't New Phyrexian. It isn't even old Phyrexian.

The designs are Thran, just with different materials.
And we are MASSIVELY removed from that making a lot of sense or being okay.

Ah, so Skrelv is a "defector" because he is defective and is evading for his life.

That Venser bio says precisely nothing that we did not know already. What a farce. I dislike it when almost the entire bio is a rehash from stuff we already know.

Thrun's history has actually been rewritten of sorts and his bio now says nothing about his stewardship of the young Melira.

I always look forward to these articles but most of these bios feel decidedly 'meh' to me.

I had my doubts, but this was pretty good. I can get behind this iteration of Phyrexia. The domini caught my eye as something unusual and unexpected.

I hadn't seen it before but I love Melira's manga art, it's got a lot of pathos in it, like her original rendition.

They should release a higher esolution version since I have trouble making out the details.

Upon reflection, I'm not surprised, but I am pretty upset that they didn't make a new Skithryx and instead we got what we got.
(Seriously, that type line would be impossible)
