This is the shadowtopic to my other reaction to Urza and Mishra.
I absolutely HATE the Transformer cards IN MY PACKS of Brothers' War. That's coming from a big Transformers fan. They completely ruined what should have been a celebration of old magic. What were they thinking?!
And to make matters worse, for absolutely not wanting to play against people playing these grating cards, Maro now seems to call me a gatekeeper?
I wish people all the best for playing non-magic themed cards, but should i play against a Marneus Calgar deck, which i would deeply dislike? No! As a Transformers fan i would not want Urza to suddenly show up. So why would it be different if Transformers suddenly show up in magic? In the BW set of all places!
Though I'm happy for people who like them, i feel UB has nothing to do with magic. I HATE every Universes Beyond card deeply and i will not play agains them. That was no problem when they were only sold in separate products, but now they've forced them into normal packs of magic.
To be fair though, as an old mtg lore fan, after BW there are only a handful of characters i would like to see on cards (Leshrac prime amongst them) before i would not need any more new cards to keep playing the game i love without giving a crap about what hairbrained schemes Hasbro continues to shovel down our throats.
