What styles of characters exist, especially in Zendikar, Innistrad, & Kaladesh, that don't automatically appear to exist in 5th Edition D&D RAW?
I've heard Lullmage and/or Roilmage for Zendikar (Wizard?)
I've heard Necroalchemist and/or Skabaren for Innistrad
I imagine some of the Inventor groups for Kaladesh, though the heavy-artifice isn't really present atm anyway.
I'm already homebrewing a complete change for druids for use in MTG campaigns so that their expertise matches their respective planes. As of now, I predict it will resemble the Cleric, in that their primary class feature (Wild Shape) be replaced with "Channel Nature" with any archetypes (druid circles) providing 2 different functions for it, hopefully 2 druid circles per plane.
I notice Nissa being a druid/shaman means one Circle could act as an alternate method of awakening plants only, with another Channel Nature for conjuring elementals in appropriate locals. Another Circle for a Channel Nature for an altered Wild Shape in the form of Totem Armor (giving creature stats but a Temp HP that sustains the effect) but can't think of a second Channel Nature for the Totem Armor Circle besides perhaps giving the druid prowess with enchantment spells or something. Innistrad at least provided some inspiration with
Somberwald Sage and
Druid's Familiar for a Circle that provides a Channel Nature that acts like Find Familiar, but allows beasts of medium size or lower, esp at higher levels. Perhaps a second Channel Nature that treats one targeted ally as IF they were a familiar in a Soulbond sort of way. No idea on a 2nd Circle on Innistrad, and only idea I have for Kaladesh is a Circle/Channel Nature that deals with lifecrafting. At least one Circle/Channel Nature should include conjuring beasts and/or monstrosities at higher CRs due to Kiora being fully capable even before her acquisition of the
Bident of ThassaSince Wizard is the "learned" spellcaster class, adding 1-2 non-school arcane traditions comes in handy for Lullmage + Roilmage and Necroalchemy + Skabaren, though Wizards in the D&D sense don't really have a presence on Kaladesh, most mages on Kaladesh behave like Sorcerers, with inexplicable magical powers from an unknown source at birth.
Are there any familiar (or not so familiar) categories of characters in this style out there I've overlooked across these planes?
Zendikar has a concept of "dragonraging" barbarians, though it's implied some sort of "battle bards" cause the dragonrage ability (strange symbiosis between classes?)
