It's the two cards I would have guessed, but why anyone would change Massacre Girl into Vial Smasher is beyond me...

But overall, I think you guys did a good job handling four-colour decks mechanically, and the reprints are amazing.

Dealing damage to random opponents really doesn't feel like a massacre, though. Remember, the partners weren't designed top-down.

Chances are whatever the card did before it was changed was more Massacre-y.

Yeah, I'm just defending the creative team for changing the flavor when the text changed. People were wondering why anyone would decide to print Vial Smasher instead of Massacre Girl, and that's why. Design/development preferred the random damage design to whatever Massacre Girl's original design was, and Vial Smasher was a better character for that ability.

I'd rationalize it as preferable to being a disservice to Massacre Girl, who I think is one of the more anticipated 'recent' characters along with Fblthp and Ludevic, but then Ludevic happened and, well, he really could have been more Ludevic-y even if I don't totally mind the version we got.

Somebody pointed this out on Tumblr recently: there was a much better choice for Goblin commander than Vial-Smasher...

Now I really want a Toggo card.....

Toggo seems like a pretty philosophical guy. It takes a special goblin to know that other people use words to solve problems.

Well, it does seem that the "Massacre Girl" card underwent lots of changes and became Exava in the end, but I always read them as two different people.
