They said they weren't going back to Tarkir any time soon, because they realize that everybody liked Khans Tarkir and people were unhappy with Fate and Dragons Tarkir.

Yeah, but they did plant themselves the seeds of an out, what with Narset finding the old scrolls that detailed what things were like before oppressive dragon rule.
