Recently, the user "nekomata desusomething" decided to make a thread of cat cards. This was the forum-posting equivalent of challenging Arachne to a knitting bee. Inquisitive Kitten Creature - Cat Whenever ~ deals combat damage to a player, you may sacrifice it. If you do, draw a card. 1/2 Curiosity killed the cat. Darkmoon Panther Creature - Cat First strike, deathtouch ~ can't block. 2/2 Ball of Yarn Artifact : Tap or untap target cat creature. Bolas' broken body lay strewn across the rocks, his power drained and his life soon to follow. As Ajani raised his blade for the final blow, the dragon smiled, and reached into his pocket for the secret weapon. "Here, kitty kitty..." Alpha Firecat Creature - Cat Whenever a creature you control attacks, that creature gets +x/-x until end of turn, where x is its toughness minus 1. 3/3 Swiftpaw Jaguar Creature - Cat : Untap ~ and remove it from combat. 2/1 |

But that person had "Crazy Cat Lady." And you clearly don't. In all seriousness, I really like the idea of Curiosity killing cats. My version would be a dumb card that was like 4/4 for 1, but died whenever anybody drew like maybe one card. Or something of the sort. Or they should just errata Curiosity to say "At the beginning of your upkeep, if this aura is attached to a cat, destroy that cat." |

Kitties! You do know that a nekomata is a mystical cat youkai of Japanese legend, right? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nekomata More seriously, I think Darkmoon Panther might be a bit undercosted (perhaps it should be instead, or reduce it's power/toughness to 2/1, so it's more vulnerable to certain kinds of removal), and ball of yarn ironically doesn't work well with it's flavor text since Ajani is a planeswalker, not a creature, and isn't cat type (why can't the planeswalkers have those sorts of types?, shouldn't Jace be human, Ajani be cat, Bolas be elder dragon, and so on?), although that really isn't a problem with the card, and the flavor text is rather amusing to imagine. I really like Swiftpaw Jaguar's mechanic, seems quite amusing that it can basically provoke people into using blockers, and potentially using combat tricks and stuff, then running off, or simply run off if it gets blocked by something that might kill it, likely causing an opponent to waste a blocker if you are attacking with multiple creatures. |

I'm more of a Western kind of cat owner. |

Who wants a cat? I have cats. They are living under my shed, under my deck and in my woods. I'll poke air holes, I promise. (In the box, not the cats you sick bastards.) |
