The poll: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=28640
The quip: Paradoxymoron calls on us to overthrow the dictatorial CotW system and seize the land for ourselves!

Oath of Protection
Legendary Enchantment (R)
: Create Sir Lhora, a legendary 3/3 white Knight creature token, then put an age counter on Oath of Protection. X is the number of age counters on Oath of Protection.
"Do not swear your life away lightly," said Sir Myral to a young Lhora. "Your back will arch like mine one day, and your arms will strain to lift your sword--and still your duty to the Queen will continue."

Imprint — At the beginning of enchanted opponent's upkeep, they exile three cards from their graveyard. Then, if there are no cards in their graveyard, transform Fading Memories.

Fading Identity
Enchantment - Aura
Enchant opponent
At the beginning of enchanted opponent's upkeep, they mill a number of cards equal to the number of cards exiled with this enchantment. (Imprinted cards persist through transforming.)

Age determines your definition of victory.

Keep Calm
Sorcery (U)
Target player discards two cards unless they beg for mercy. (If they do, add the mercy half of this card to this spell's effects.)
~~~~~
Carry On
Sorcery - Mercy (U)
Search your library for a card, put it in your hand, then shuffle your library.
Stop
Instant (U)
Counter target spell unless its controller begs for mercy. (If they do, add the mercy half of this card to this spell's effects.)
~~~~~
Smell the Roses
Instant - Mercy (U)
Look at the top four cards of your library. Put two in your hand and the rest on the bottom.

Sidisi's Plot
Sorcery (R)
This spell costs less to cast for each card you own in exile.
Return X target creature cards from your graveyard to your hand.
The tyranny of the dragonlords had to end to make room for a new kind of tyranny.

The Rules

How To Nominate:
Quote the post with the card you want to nominate. Delete everything in that post other than the card. Copy and paste your quote into a post on this thread.
If you did it right the quote tag should link to the original post.

What's Eligible?
Any fan-designed M:TG card posted since the most recent CotW thread went live is eligible. It doesn't even have to be the first time the card was posted. Yes, Un cards are valid. No, Yugioh cards are not.

What's Not Eligible?
  • Nominating your own cards. You can only nominate cards by other people.
  • Nominating a card from your own repost, regardless of whether or not the original post was yours.
  • Nominations that result from collusion. If a nomination is made in exchange for some sort of favor, or under some sort of threat, then the nomination is void.
  • Cards that have already won CotW are not eligible for future CotWs.
  • Nominations that I consider to be jokes or trolling.

A Note On Contests:
Many contest holders feel that having an entrant nominated for CotW will skew the results of their contest. To prevent this while still allowing those cards their chance at nomination, any card submitted to a contest is eligible for nomination to CotW as though the date the contest (or pertinent round of the contest) ended was the date the card was posted.

*"To YMTC it up" means to design cards that have value mostly from a design perspective. i.e. you would put them in a case under glass in your living room and visitors could remark upon the wonderful design principles, with nobody ever worring if the cards are annoying/pointless/confusing in actual play

Another milestone! I'm going to have to rework the Past Winners section again to fit the character limit.

Avalanche Elemental
Creature - Elemental (U)

Occupation of Fenhead

Enrage — Whenever Occupation of Fenhead is dealt damage, create a 1/1 white Soldier creature token.
Foul-smelling, bug-infested, and far-flung, Fenhead was considered the worst possible assignment for an Imperial soldier.

Peat-Torch Riot
Sorcery
Peat-Torch Riot deals damage to any target equal to the number of creatures you control.
Within just a few years, the deserters outnumbered those who stayed, and the Garrison burned.

Wow a 4-way tie!
Stop & Smell The Roses is a real cute card, but I've pledged myself to Oath of Protection.
