Not sure if black could get this sort of counterspell effect; it seems like a very black thing in terms of flavor of card and color pie, but mechanically the color pie may not support black having any sort of hard limited counters. Also inspired by my coworker literally rebutting to our boss about having worked at the GAP for five years when she told him he had messed up sorting and pricing the day we were trained.

Could probably stand to be 1cmc, since it's a sidegrade to Outwit, which wasn't a playable in the first place. I like the flavor but agree it's mechanically mono blue.

I think it'd be fine as a white protection spell too, like Dawn Charm, but they've mainly stuck to giving you hexproof so far, like Blossoming Calm.

IMO it definitely has more white vibes - both mechanically and flavorfully - in that it's much an appeal an authority, which black doesn't really believe in as an argument.
