Enchantment (M) At the beginning of your upkeep, search your library for a basic land card that doesn't share a type with another basic land you control, put it onto the battlefield, then shuffle. Then if there are five or more land types among basic lands you control, sacrifice Alara's Rejoining and create a Fusion Elemental token. (It's a 8/8 Elemental creature.)
The new technology of creating a token of an existing card, a la Ral and the Implicit Maze, is pretty cool! I think the key is to have the cards you choose be relatively simple so the environment and gameplay doesn't get too convoluted. In this case, a vanilla 8/8 token doesn't add much mental tax, but making the token a specific card instead of a generic one adds some fun flavor.
I always think it's funny in a piece of media where a character gets swallowed by a giant beast of some kind and they find a lot of random crap in its stomach, like a TV or a Volkswagen Beetle.

*"To YMTC it up" means to design cards that have value mostly from a design perspective. i.e. you would put them in a case under glass in your living room and visitors could remark upon the wonderful design principles, with nobody ever worring if the cards are annoying/pointless/confusing in actual play

I really enjoy Modern Horizons sets. As a longtime player and designer, I really appreciate the returning mechanics, callbacks to older sets, and higher complexity that these sets bring. I'm a Vorthos/Melvin at heart. So for fun, I've been designing cards for my own Modern Horizons set. My average design is kind of Modern Horizon-y to begin with, so why not?
I'm going to share quite a few of these cards, starting with a kitty cat!
