No, those are not very complex cards, because they put +1/+1 counters directly onto creatures, rather than create a token (which you have to demarcate with a token) that sacrifices to become a +1/+1 counter (that you have to demarcate with a counter). The effect is that the creature permanently gets +1/+1, but you're using a token to create a counter when I don't think you couldn't accomplish much the same with "Remove a +1/+1 counter from a creature you control:" rather than "Sacrifice a Blessing:"

You're focused on the +1/+1. I'm focused on the fact that your mechanic is essentially putting +1/+1 counters on creatures, but using a token as an intermediary to make that happen,

Then again, like I said, I don't understand why it is such an issue to you. Are Food and Clues complex? They too are using tokens to gain 3 life or draw a card, the end state is that you have 3 more life or a card in hand. 'Remove a +1/+1 counter...' and 'Sacrificing a Blessing' isn't the same neither, I could play Faithful Watchdog as fuel for the first but I can't sac it as a blessing.

and that the token itself doesn't offer interesting enough upsides (banking +1/+1 counters for creatures you haven't played yet, etc.) to compensate for that added layer.

Isn't banking effects the point of trinkets to start with? As a result, designs that does the effect can be cheaper by using the trinket as a replacement instead. Again, Food is also essentially gaining 3 life but using a token as an intermediary. Your argument is like playing a blessing version of Backup Agent on curve to pump a flier later is the same as dropping the flier first then drop Backup Agent later. Should the player store +1/+1 counters to outsize the opponent's fatty or crack it now to give them a boost hoping to aggro faster? Or using the blessing creature as chump to store the token for a creature with enough size to beat the opponent's. There is still a choice for them to decide how to go about it. I don't see why there is a need to compensate for the 'added layer'. It is taking something players are already familiar with but giving them an extra option to utilize it.

If the point is that you feel it shouldn't be restricted to sorcery for more interaction or the power level of the trinket is too low, then sure, that's fair but why not just write that as the comment so that it is clear instead of some text about complexity.

That's not how I feel at all. I meant what I said and said what I meant.

I appreciate your passion and I don't mean to antagonize you. It's really nothing personal.

I just think using a token to create a counter is too complex. It should either be just the token or just the counter. Combining them creates too many moving parts on the game board.

It's okay. I am aware we just won't agree on this. To me, creating a token that creates a counter isn't complex, that's all.

Sorry Tevish, for clogging up the thread.

Not sure how I got to thinking the +1/+1 was permanent when the ability wasn't. Knowing now only makes the card better.

I costed mine based on deadly dispute which arguably gives more value than my card

The potion can only br activated at sorcery speed specifically to solve the combat problem

Okay, yeah, I missed sorcery potions only. I'll have to reconsider this.

On reflection, I think solving that problem will boost swap with the rank above.

I'll deliberately leave this up until monday so cards from here can be nominated in the next CotW if anyone cares to. If it goes past monday y'all can yell at me even more than you're already entitled to.
