This is probably a terrible terrible idea, but my playgroup is testing out Brawl and I want to see how much jank Jodah, Archmage Eternal will be. Actually that's a lie, I just want to see how big I can get Awakened Amalgam. =p
Oh goody I a can avoid the uncommon tapland cycle 28 is probably still too many, but it's a fine starting point I'll narrow it down once I figure out my spells
I've been told this format plays more like standard than EDH, so this deck will probably fail hard core unless I really retune it (specifically: add removal). Oh well, it's not like that's stopped me from trying before, why should now be any different?

OK so the core has to be green. In order to up the green mana count I'm thinking I'm going to use some of the mono-green utility lands (over basic forests where possible b/c I'm still looking to max out Awakened Amalgam): Desert of the Indomitable Hashep Oasis Memorial to Unity looks like 3 is all I get. I should probably add at least one more basic forest to be honest though, probably two more. Also adding in Growing Rites of Itlimoc since the core is heavily green. Ugh this deck is really looking like my ill-fated 2-stage fatman rocket deck I tried to build a bit ago. That was a disaster. Must. Add. Cheap. Removal.
Removal Options
cmc<=3, plus a few select 4 drops (sticking to mostly single color weight): W Slash of Talons
Upon review I believe red gives me the best pool of cheap removal spells. Black is fine too, but Jodah is Jeskai and I'd actually like to be able to cast him and the deck is already core green...
Nevermind on adding Growing Rites in, this deck could never flip it.
Mana base looks nice and weighted now. Ended up not putting in the mono-colored nonbasics because even though Awakened Amalgam doesn't like multiples of basics I need to have enough fetchables to find for my double color weight spells.
World Shaper and Mending are self encapsulating so they're ok and Muldrotha gets other stuff back too so it's fine. That only leaves Ramunap Excavator and Quarry Beetle as iffy. Eh, I'll see what playtesting has to say about them. It may be that I end up cutting Excavator for a second Island (going up to 27 lands isn't terrible, 5 color decks have hefty mana base requirements). I'm kinda wanting that for Search for Azcanta early and for Slinn Voda later because of its either double or triple blue requirement depending on if I kick it and/or cast it off Jodah's alternate cost granting ability. And Quarry Beetle could become that Heart-Piercer Manticore I've been toying with in the back of my mind.

Edit: Forgot to count Jodah, towards my deck size. Also been rethinking my color problem that I'm going to have with this deck. In addition to a pile of cards that I pulled aside that I can't reference right now I am considering the following: Navigator's Compass <- in addition to color fixing, can make buddy lands etb untapped Karn, Scion of Urza <- colorless cardflow Oracle's Vault <- colorless cardflow
The above swaps may be going a bit too far, but I think I'd like to err on the side of actually being able to cast my spells for the first version of this deck that I actually play and then figure out where I can shave to add more actual function. And no, I can't believe I just swapped out fast lands for Unknown Shores and Painted Bluffs either. XD

The answer is: No, this deck doesn't actually do anything.
I fell into the same hole here that I did with Jaya (too many enablers, not enough threats) but to an even further extent. Jodah just wants to land haymakers, so haymakers he shall have:
Average-4.357/3.150/3.636 A bit high, but hopefully manageable. The point is that I now have bombs to actually drop as opposed to just sitting around twiddling my thumbs on an engine that's going nowhere fast and for no reason.
