Pretty obvious reasons.

Should there be some kind of handicap for male players against female players?

No, not really. Most players are mature and game-focused enough to not be distracted problematically by the fact that their opponent happens to be female.

In un-land, though, they get more utility out of Ladies' Knight (always) and Sex Appeal (most of the time: I've been at tables where it would be the other way around)

I hesitate to post here, since I do not want to encourage this freaking topic.

If your LGS/playgroup has this "problem" that's a good sign to find a new one.

I introduced my college study group to magic. Being geeks (myself included) they all took to it right away. We were playing in the cafeteria one day and a female student walks by. She see what were playing and runs right over.

Her: "Magic! I used to play with my brothers all the time! Wow!"
Me: "Want to sit down and play? We have lots of decks. This round will be over soon."
Her: "Sure!"
I hand her a deck and she sits down.
Everyone is silent. I look at each of my friends faces. They are either staring slack jawed at her or as red faced as you can get.

The lady and I look at each other and I say "**** virgins." All the tables around us turned to see what she was laughing about.

Ladies only have an advantage in direct proportion to your experience with the ladies. So an honest case of "It's not you, it's me."

That's actually a pretty acurate way to describe it. Well said.

Now that you mention it, I kind of agree. I'm surprised I've never seen a thread about this before. Maybe there was one back on WotC forum?

Don't assume the mouth breathing, slack jaw, and vacant stares of your opponents. It's all part of the game plan ;)

I once sat down at a table of 4 girls playing magic, got my ass kicked in star format, and later found out that I was apparently the subject of an R-rated conversation after I left.

Make of that what you will.
