Ultra Pro Magic the Gathering: Relic Tokens – Eternal Collection

Ultra PRO is releasing a new, Limited-Edition, Magic The Gathering item called Relic Tokens, and the first wave is called the Eternal Collection.

The first run of these Relic Tokens will never be reproduced, though there will be more sets in the future with different art. They will be sold three per blind pack, with each Relic Token being available in three different rarity levels: common, uncommon, and rare. The first wave includes fifteen different tokens, and there will be foil and non-foil versions for each. Tokens are made with a durable hard plastic material, with an ultra clear surface to highlight the artwork.

https://www.ultrapro.com/division.php?d=g

• 15 collectible tokens in the set
- 12 creature tokens, 2 Planeswalkers and 1 Tarmagoyf power counter token
• Three rarity levels
• Premium-Foil versions randomly inserted
• Each Relic Token has two rotating numerical dials to track from 0 to 99

Is there really a market for this sort of thing?

My immediate thoughts on seeing those were 1. I want all of them right now and 2. ugh, they come in randomized boosters. Just let me buy a complete set and have done with it.

I don't know I constitute a market or not, but we'll see.

Ugh blindboxed products that only work with specific products I may not have. I doubt there's enough interest to have a good trading market either. If I get one I can't use, it's just junk.

I already forsee the WotC coverage trying to use these things on camera.

I know if it were me, I wouldn't let them on the table.

pass, even if they sold in a bundle and even if you can/could alter the p/t of the tokens, there are enough keywords on tokens and the amount of money needed to buy them all for something so not necessary is just silly.

Eh, I'll just let aftermarket dealers dictate if any of these are worth getting.
