Sorin clearly knew that Nahiri was sealed inside the Helvault. He should have been able to think about opening it up as soon as he knew she was needed to resolve the situation. Instead, he goes for a month-long trek searching for Ugin.

And I believe that Ugin's help probably wasn't needed at all to reseal the Eldrazi again.

I don't know why Sorin acted like such an idiot in regards to searching for Nahiri. She would have been the easiest to find.

You should head down to the flavor and storylines section of this forum. There's been whole theses written about the subject.

Wow I wonder why Sorin didn't let Nahiri out of the Helvault earlier. Can't possibly think of a reason why.

Easiest to find =/= Easiest to work with

I bet you could get a very similar scenario to happen in real life if you convince your best friend to do something illegal (avoiding leaving any proof of coercion), turn them in for doing that illegal thing, they go to jail for X amount of years, and then you greet them as they get released on parole. Not quite the exact scenario as Sorin and Nahiri were in, but similar enough that I think you'd have a better understanding of why Sorin didn't release her.

I went to the Art/Flavor/Storylines forum to look at this. Turns out this new information isn't a new phenomenon. It's retcon.

The retcon just makes Sorin look like an incompetent idiot, which is the exact reason why he left Nissa. He should "leave" himself for his idiocy, if you know what I mean.

Someone close this thread please. I'm getting too upset over poor writing in this game.

I wouldn't suggest reading the most recent Amonkhet story article if you've paid attention to the art on Near-Death Experience, then. Or looking closely at Near-Death Experience's art if you have read the Amonkhet story article. :incognito:

Retcon's been going on left and right since they fired Brady.
