Grove of the Dreampods + Lion's Eye Diamond + whatever the heck you want + eldrazi

Orzhova + Lion's eye Diamond + Whatever you want that isn't an eldrazi

The same with the Maelstrom but all permanants

^^ Basically it's the play big permanents for free on turn 2 format.

Does Immersturm, Peat Bog, Black Lotus, Saproling Burst work the way I think it does? 6 + 5 + 4 + 3 + 2 = Dead?

I do think there is so much broken stuff on T2 that it's no use banning everything.
Last round we had one extra mana source and things could get broken.
Now we're basically getting a free really strong enchantment of choice that cant be destroyed.

Well....if you ban all the lockdown planes too then yes there's a ton of broken **** on turn 2. The flip option is that you could have no banlist and everyone plays the same 3 planes <3

Like I said. After thinking about it for 10 minutes I decided the format just sucks.

I wonder what this format would be like if you planeswalked to your plane on your opponent's upkeep.

Not that I'm changing it, but possibly an idea for the future. Might just be dumb, though.

I'm pretty sure I have a deck that can work around the stasis planes, stops Ritual decks and at least ties Eldrazi that can't kill after one attack.

Of course, it does depend on the last card for the really broken decks that have room for that last one.

Also, there are still a few types of deck that absolutely wreck it. I do think it's quite vulnerable to some stuff that I'm expecting, but I couldn't resist to send this thing in.

Is it BridgeTongs?

It's always BridgeTongs.

Edit: You said it stops Ritual decks too, so nevermind.

If you made it you pick for your opponent's turns, it would be like giving everyone a free Ensnaring Bridge. Ignoring that that isn't what people voted for.

You know, I already sent it in :P

Yeah, but I delay myself in finalizing my deck so I don't commit to something bad and then regret it all week after reading the submissions.

This way I only have to regret my bad decisions for a few days. :V

Oh yeah, I know that feeling from the period I hosted it myself.
Good thing I can ignore that feeling so I don't feel bad if I only get 8 points in a round like in Vanilla Redux :V

But it's a combo deck, so is pretty weak against controlling elements. I just don't expect hope there isn't too much control in this meta.

It was like one vote ahead of 2 other things with 4 or 5 votes total.

Reset had 5. Choose-Your-Own-Medallion had 4. I didn't write down what Planechase had, but it was probably 6, maybe 7.

I found this round slightly boring. I think the top decks are going to be Mishra's Workshop, Inkmoth Nexus, Land Destruction (especially targeted), Karn Liberated, and storage land + big creature + control card. I'm leaning towards Inkmoth and Workshop just being stupid, with everything else being a mix of the meta we normally see, minus the decks that are no longer possible. Thus I'm picking something that does well enough versus Workshop and Inkmoth while mostly breaking even (at least) against the other decks mentioned (except for 1).

Does anyone mind pointing out which blocks people are likely to choose this round? Am I right in thinking that Black Lotus can't be played?

I don't have great knowledge of older sets so am going into this a bit blind.

Correct, Black Lotus cannot be played.

If you want ideas, here's the spreadsheet from the last time we did a round like this. Just ignore the decks that picked core sets or standalone sets.

If you're gonna give out the TNT, you might as well give out the fish as well :P. Time Spiral has your storage lands as well as some of the more powerful cards like The Rack and Thallid. Beyond that, I recommend doing searches for Vanilla staples and seeing what pairs up. Searches for Despise, The Rack, and Dark Ritual may give you something. I haven't found too many accelerators this round.

Huh? The only storage lands Time Spiral has are the dual-storage-lands (Calciform Pools cycle) that need another mana-maker to power. I don't think you're winning this format dedicating two cards to slow mana production. You'd be dead long before you get enough mana to be able to cast anything relevant, and if you're dedicating two cardslots in time spiral to non-immediate mana production, Lotus Bloom is generally preferable.

The block with storage lands that can act in isolation (Fountain of Cho cycle) is Mercadian Masques. And if you can make that block work for you, more power to ye. :)

I forgot about those lands! Yeah, I didn't say they were good this time around, but if you wanted to store up and cast something they exist. You're pretty much right though, even if you wanted something over 6CMC you might as well use Hypergenesis and Lotus Bloom...not that I found anything really worth it.
