I have this awful feeling that some hate deck is going to run away with the game because people are trying to do cool things.
Found a list I really liked though.

Found a deck that it's as terrible as(to me at least) funny.

I got a fun looking list too. I haven't found much hate though...Daze, Discard, and The Rack are the most reasonable ones...Hive Mind and Curse of Echoes the most hilarious.

Teferi is what I'm playing around with.

Nice, I was looking at Rush's old tech but I haven't found a way to make it anything other than hate for hate's sake.

I also want to see if there's anything fun to do with Paradox Haze

Thalia is probably pretty good this round, but in case anyone thought otherwise, she doesn't stop epic copies since they're never cast.

The biggest hate I've found so far is that there aren't too many alt-round focused decks that are any better than the usual vanilla suspects. I haven't had much time to poke around though.

I really want to find a way to make Heroes Remembered relevant though. I have a feeling the round will be too fast for Storage Lands and anything that will keep me alive until I can cast it...not to mention anything that would actually use it to win (rather than just make some slow game relevant) is too expensive to keep me alive long enough to actually win.

I found a really cool deck. Although it's not as good as my other cool deck. But I might use it next vanilla round if things stay somewhat the same.
Probably not though, since it dies to Karakas.


To different extents. For this round, the obvious incentive is to cast sorcery spells. Now, I haven't looked into this enough to know whether this is true or not, but let's pretend that Lotus/Lotus/Spell is the most popular deck because it can outrace Storage Land variants or whatever. The winning deck then ends up being Artifact Blast, which actually has an (albeit marginal) drawback this round.

Compare to the Knowledge Pool round (RIP ;_;), where people are probably fighting over who gets to cast Emrakul during the first upkeep step. You actually need to abuse the rules in order to have a chance. I also think the Manifest round is like it, and whatever the name of the second place last poll was.

So, I found the best possible lockdown card. Problem is, Epic means I have to play my wincon before I play the lock, and the lock also affects me, and the cheapest wincon to go under the lock costs . Is a deck that leaves itself completely vulnerable until turn seven or eight useless, or could it work? Of course, against faster decks I could just lay down the lock for a draw...

I'm thinking turn seven or eight is real bad. Past alt rounds where vanilla decks were viable always had people utterly ignoring the specialness of the round. Dual Titan, Mayor, and lands.dec are all viable. Further, Daze/Chronomaton hates on this round pretty hard basically 3/3ing most decks trying to Epic-out, not to mention Lotus/Thalia and/or Lodestone Golem. Beyond that, there's already been the turn two lockout deck of Time Walk.

Kinda feels like you want to have Epic established turn one...turn two tops...

Or you could just say "screw it" and submit a cool deck!

I'm surprised no one mentioned time walk during the voting period. I immediately noticed that and my all-consuming knowledge of mtg and 3cm would fit into a thimble.

My favorite deck for the round so far is Lion's Eye Diamon/Chancellor of the Tangle/Unburial Rites, but sadly it doesn't look very good.
