Yeah, being weak to criticism is bad, obviously. You'll grow faster if you take it all in, even the mean stuff, and really think about it. And there isn't anything inherently wrong with hyping yourself. It's the main reason everyone knows I'm the best and most innovative deckbuilder ever. :teach: Lols. But the best praise is always that which comes from others unsolicited, and hyping yourself too much hurts your chances of getting that praise, even when deserved. If you're just undeniably amazing, like if you're a Muhammad Ali, Bobby Fischer, Kanye West, then sure, go for it. But even world class champions in their chosen field get a lot of flak for their attitude, and if you aren't the best, then forget about it.

You should be ashamed for having a deck bad enough for TWoo to play.

Ladies and gents, I now have a new insult.

And I'm glad Sarah acknowledges Kanye is one of the greats

Of course, that's because all he ever does is write this weekly article about CFB and hype himself up. He's also really, really bad about criticism.

playing green cards and nykthos is hardly stealing an idea. green ramp is a long standing archetype. I'm pretty sure twoo was the first on genesis wave decks years prior anyway. I'm not saying he isn't being an **** about it but the guy has a chip on his shoulder because he's the whipping boy of the competitive community.

That's because he's too busy trying to live up to being "the brewer"
At least he doesn't remind everyone about Thragdoor whatever with each article, a la Flores and Naya Lightsaber.

Do I think he has pigeonholed himself? possibly. Brewing is obviously his favorite thing to do in Magic and he's always doing it. Just the things he's brewed that were actually good were never taken seriously which I can understand and see why he'd be upset about it. Only until last year did anybody think Living End was a real deck and people still refer to it as Twoo kid ****. That's got to be disheartening.

Being comparing him to Flores is just harsh. His reputation isn't based on who he hung out with a neutral ground with or how he literally knows everybody.

Would it be possible (for the ease of those who try and take in the knowledge provided by the conversation) to autocard the cards that are pertinent to the ongoing conversation?
Thanks.

Probably, but I honestly don't even know if I've listed any actual cards. And I'm lazy, that's a problem too.

The comments section on that deck discussion page reminded me of Wizards_Sean, the orcs, and the old DOTP forum. That alone was worth it.

That being said I thought the op clearly stated that they are just happy the deck got some recognition. So what's the issue here once we've decided the dude should've given him credit but isn't going to?

I think these are the only cards mentioned:

Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx
Eternal Witness
Primal Command
Acidic Slime
Burning-Tree Emissary
Genesis Wave

And his deck based around Living End.

Travis Woo says/does a lot of stupid and childish things, but I feel all the trolling and hate he receives is unfair. At worst, his content is casual or a joke, at best, it's interesting, refreshing and maybe even viable sometimes.

About the monogreen deck, I think yelling plagiarisms in this day and age about magic deck is about as dumb as it gets, and the MTGSalvation thread is embarrassing.

Thanks rstnme, that makes the conversation much easier to follow. I don't play a lot outside of DOTP and my knowledge of the card base is still growing.
That helps.

The original stupid green deck with eladamri's vineyard and desert twister, now that was a real innovation.

Desert Twister is so awesome. Nobody expects creature kill from an Omnath deck.

I have no idea how such a deck might be constructed. But it must be done!

Knowledge knows no bounds.

And so people say to me, "How do I know if a word is real?" You know, anyone who's read a children's book knows that love makes things real. If you love a word, use it! That makes it real. Being in the dictionary is an artificial distinction; it doesn't make the word any more real than any other word. If you love a word, it becomes real.
