Serene: I added a comment to your vs3. His 4-1 is right, because if he's in position to Daze your Sol Ring, your Sol Ring never lands (and by extension, your Lodestone Golem never lands either). Doesn't matter that you have 2 more mana in your mana pool from the Mishra's Workshop, because that mana can only be used to cast artifacts, not pay off counterspell mana conditions.

Because everyone plays land . 3CM was the exception, its why I changed my deck (Chancellor Decks and allnvm, there was some deck that made me start looking again cause I couldn't target), although I didn't realize until I actually started tallying that I could do no better than draw because there is no "you must make at least one play per game" rule.

Edit: Oh! It was Jack's smallpox deck. Since he could crack smallpox on his turn and I could never cast, or, if I cast, he could just hold and draw. I just didn't apply the same line of thought to lands because they are so automatic in regular Magic.

New Round: Vanilla Redux

Yes, this round has the exact same rules and banned list as the previous one. You've seen what decks people are building, now figure out which deck will put you on top. Will it be a repeat from last round, or something completely new? We've never done this redux thing before, so who knows!

Also, this is just to mark that I'm officially accepting submissions. Don't let this distract you from filling out last week's spreadsheet!

Is there any way that the decklists could easily be added here and autocarded? That would make it a bit easier for me to follow and possibly catch up, I think.

That is one thing I like about the version on MTGS - when a round is posted the decks are posted with autocards. On Mothership mqj also posted his result summary with autocards (I imagine he had a script of some sort, because his summary was always so perfectly templated, and he was always on top of any misspellings that broke his script!)

That is a great idea! I'm writing a script now to make this easy, and I'll put the Vanilla decklists in the OP as soon as the forum servers let me. In the future, I'll post the decklists along with the spreadsheet.

At some point, I looked into integrating some sort of autocard into the spreadsheet themselves, but the user interface for Sheets doesn't really allow for a convenient autocard. (There's no way to pop up images, and links take extra work to click on.) In the absence of that feature, though, posting autocarded decklists here will definitely help.

that's actually not a bad strategy. it's round robin, not swiss, so beating a bunch of bad decks can be a really valuable thing if a bunch of people run bad decks. (or "door it up", as the kids say.)

yeah knowledge pool seems really complex, I'm glad it's not winning yet. I'm honestly not sure that all games won't just be ties.

I have a killer deck idea for Knowledge Pool actually. I hope it wins so that I can actually have a shot in this game hah hah

I think the key is recognizing that whatever you can play for zero mana allows you to play literally any spell in the game, and then proceeding from that point... though I'm sure there's some way that it can be turned into Hellmurder Combo Death, too.

Sloppy Work seems like a steep learning curve.

Anarchy seems crazy. The number of draws will be stupendous. Leyline/Lotus/Mesmeric Fiend or Thalia and Chancellor of the Annex/Storage/PtE seem incredibly strong.
