back at the beginning of Caldera's reign, I believe they were doing it all themself. or someone else's reign, I don't know for sure but I do remember that happening. it was like six years ago though.

yeah that was what i did but there were like 15-20 people per round and so it took me several hours, that didnt work great

yeah I think once we figured out that we could have the community do it, it was pretty immediately clear that that was better so we just went with that.

Yeah, I'm definitely gonna work through them all anyways. I don't know if itll save any time since mine are gonna have mistakes.

@Zuty: How'd that turn out? I was actually thinking about that deck for a non-lotus round. Seems like it would be bad though. I'm looking for a substitute for the other Chalice.

Ensnaring Bridge is the obvious answer.

Seems like it, but that loses to storage land, bridge, pinger (or draws against bridge/tongs) and many other reach decks. I guess my problem is acceptance in this format. I want to have all the wins...

It draws with the pinger deck as well...

When I said pinger, I meant pings for more than one damage. I just can't think of any off the top of my head.

I don't think I've seen anything like that run in 3CM. Maybe it is time for some deck innovation.

I have a chronic need to not do what's been done before. I felt bad enough just tweaking a known deck this time around. I'm hoping to bring some fresh ideas to the game, even if it just inspires someone else to max the idea out.

First rounds I'm just doing something that's been done to death. So all those strong decks can get banned and my pet deck can shine once again <_<

Just as an added topic of discussion, after having played over on MTGS for quite some time, I find the ability to adjust the number of cards in hand each round to be a big boon to the game overall. I know people worry about the complexity of 5cm, but it's really not bad at all. I don't want 5cm ALL THE TIME, but I've found it and 4cm just as fun, and a rotation between the three to be the best.

@POSValkir - I went four for four. I lost to Ratchet Bomb deck that destroyed both my chalices and an Ajani Vengeant deck that kept my chalices tapped; but I beat an Æther Vial that used Azor's Elocutors as a win con and I went 3-3 against the first place deck (Culling Scales, Mercadian Bazaar, Flameblast Dragon) I was surprised that I did as well as I did.

:( The first place deck was a storage land deck with no disruption or anything else for 4 turns? Man, I would liked to have seen that full field. Sounds interesting at least.

It was very interesting. The group I play with has surprised me with their decks and, because a few of them are going against the meta, it results in more interesting match ups. Sure, you could go and play a 3CM deck that wins frequently, but where's the fun in that? I'd much rather play Awakening Zone, Hand of Emrakul, Black Lotus and see if anyone prepared for that all the while having fun.

The fun of winning is unbanning broken stuff.

The idea is that that awakening zone could be a storage land and that that black lotus could be some form of disruption and you could still win off of that to the same effect in a lot of games. Like the :u: storage land and bounce or the :w: storage land and path to exile.

yeah, the path version is a legit deck. it's at its peak when someone goes mad and unbans chancellor of the annex, but you can do it with Ulamog too.

I'm just participating in this contest to ban anything even remotely strong, and then the mediocre stuff.
