Purpose of thread is to talk and discuss beer or specifics beer. I suppose like a beer general thread :V

Tonight I'm drinking Pere Jacques by Goose Island, year 2009. Dubbel style beer and I really enjoy the flavor which has a hint of fruit notes and tastes like caramel. I'm not enjoying the texture as it is a bit too thick which I should have expected from this style of beer of this age. I just wasn't really thinking when I bought it.

Next beer for tonight is Cream Ale by Sun King, a local Indianapolis brewery.

I like Goose. Cream Ales I have mixed feelings about--I want my beer to have more bite.

I'm drinking Dark Horse's Percolator, and lately have been drinking Goose's IPA, Dogfish Head's Raison D'etre, and this saison clone my uncle brews that is phenomenal.

i just started getting into saison style beer. it's the new hotness in my life.

To be frank, I'm a bigger fan of clearer lighter style beers. I like the simplicity of flavors and the minimalist nature of the beer. Thick beers are not really my thing.

See, I like complicated beers--ones that can roll to the back of my tongue and tickle all my tastebuds. Founder's Breakfast Stout is another good one.

What I like about saisons too is how they change flavors as the beer ariates or however the hell you spell it. A bitter, crisp saison can turn into a mellow, smooth drink with a little time. Much like the majority of my exes.

Most of the time I'm drinking beer with food and I like pretty complicated food so I want something simple and clean to be paired with it.

I like to keep it simple, but I hate cheap beer too, so what do I do???

Stella I like, Shiner Boch and Blonde I like. Shock Top is great too. I'm apparently the only one in the world, but I hate hate hate hoppy beers. IPAs are the worst.

I like a Guinness once in a great while, but it is a bit much.

Chicken, waffles, bacon, and founders breakfast stout is probably one of the best ways to start your day. I guarantee it.

Shiner is alright. They changed their recipe years ago, so I'm kinda meh on it. But I'm glad they're doing well now. I can't stand Shock Top and Blue Moon. They're also terrible for you.

I really dislike IPAs as well. I don't like hops and I don't like bitterness. Which is sorta annoying seeing that every beer has a stupid name like Hoppopotamus or Hoptosaurus Rex and every brew house has their own now.

I just hate the hop race brewers are going through right now. Just brew a good IPA and be done with it, don't install a g-d hops tap in your bar to prove a point. And yeah, when you start punning, you've done something terribly wrong.

I liked Guinness Extra Stout for a while there...pretty sure it said "chewable" on the bottle.

I'm pretty much not allowed to drink anymore, even though I break that rule occasionally. I can count on one hand the number of times I've drank alcohol this year. As far as beers go, I've only broken the rule for a Sam Adams' Octoberfest.

I'll drink Guinness, Sam Adams and some random Scotch Ale I found in a bar that served around 300 beers. Random choice that worked out great.

Are you not allowed to drink because of work? Regardless, that sucks.

Anyway, usually I just drink Heineken if I'm drinking to relax after a hard day. If I'm gonna play beer pong or get smashed with some friends, I buy a case of Coors Light because it's cheap and it's easy to drink lots of (even though it tastes like watered down urine).

My favorite beer is Żubr but I hardly ever drink it because it's so hard to get in America, so usually it's good ole Heineken.

Anybody have any other lager recommendations? Lager > everything else
