Point being, we need some one to be uncon lead. Either Zammm or Rush likely has the most relevant experience so one, if not both should be heading it.

I don't want anyone to feel obligated to run UnCon. I want it to be a volunteer effort jointly between staff and the community.

So where do we sign up for running events? What do we need to get approval, and when do you want this to happen?

The sooner the better imo.

Over the next week or so I wanna get everything worked out. If wants to share anything, this thread is as good a place as any.

We need:

1. Prizes (any kind of custom art and any kind of gaming products are especially welcome)
2. Contests (pbp games of any kind, or any ideas for other types on contests. we will likely have lots of trivia, but anything is welcome)
3. Guests Judges (either to run contests, or to help judge contests that need multiple judges)
4. Special Guests (if you know of any writers, artists, designers, or other personalities who might be interested in Q&A, that would be sweet!)
4. Ideas (if you have any suggestions that aren't included above, feel free to mention them)
5. PEP

Was that the UnCon after the last forum port? If so, I thought that never actually ended up happening.

Of all the things to run into, UnCon is probably not on the list. Take it slow.

Yeah, that was a really sucky year.

The forums work fine.

All the moderation/admin staff need to do is approve or okay individuals requests.

And lets not act like even if they were to participate this is a thing that would require hours of intense focus.


The sooner the better. Need to keep moving traffic in until the blogs wiki etc. are up.

Uhhh, this will require a lot of hours to get organized lol.

I don't want to lose steam, but I also don't want to rush into disaster, either. I think a weekish is a good timeline for us to get stuff set up, and we can adjust that as needed.

You know you're grossly oversimplifying it. It is going to be organized.

The last UnCon (the one that didn't happen due to prize issues) took literally months to plan. We're trying to make an UnCon on a fresh forum with only two survivors (Rush+zammm) of the initial planning core.

This will take time, and it will be well worth every second.
